Stirling Spa & Nails — Attraction in Long Hill Township

I am not usually one to write reviews, however I actually left the salon in awe after my pedicure there today. The pedicure itself was fine, nothing special….my polish is a little messy and lumpy, looking at it now and my one toe hurts and is red in the corner from the technician cutting the corner too deep but whatever. The girl that did my pedicure was very nice and as I said for the most part it was ok, it did however seem a little short for a spa pedicure. My issue is when it came to paying….the spa pedicure was $65 and when I went to pay my total was $90. I’m not saying an upcharge is unheard of for gel polish, but a $25 upcharge? You can get a whole regular pedicure for around $30 most places. $25 for gel polish is a little steep and should have been communicated. I heard someone discussing 2 polishes (one was $5 more than the other). You would think that a $25 upcharge would be made very clear. I paid and didn’t make a huge deal and the gentleman who rung me up gave me a $9 gift certificate for when I come back, however I will not be going back. There are many other salons in the area that don’t charge like this. It’s disappointing since this one is 5 minutes from home, but I’ll drive the extra 5-10 minutes to pay...

First time here, I got a gel manicure and picked a dark pink color. When Gina was doing my nails, the color was almost translucent and did not look anything like the sample they had provided. It was two completely different colors. Gina said because the base has to be white, but did a clear base which is why the color was literally see through. I have been getting my nails done for years and have NEVER had this problem. I picked another color and instead of taking off the polish that was already on, she painted over it and now my nails look round and thick. There is 5 layers of polish on my nail. I didnt notice until after I left that there is hair and fuzz under the clear polish, my thumb had ridges in it and is uneven, and FOUR of my nails on my right hand are wrinkled underneath. I also had to file each nail because all the edges are rough. I was hoping for a good experience based off of a recommendation but I am incredibly disappointed, especially for the price I paid. i came here while traveling because i desperately needed a new gel-x set after breaking a few. the reviews seemed promising, but do not at all reflect my experience. everyone seemed nice, but this was one of the laziest manicures i've ever gotten; poorly done and thick/globby. i'm going to have to file a few myself just to fix the shape and remove air bubbles. at one point, an extension was glued on over a centimeter from my nail bed and i had to ask her to redo it. absolutely no prep or care to my nail beds or cuticles; just drilled the surfaces and put new extensions on. would've started painting over dust had i not asked to rinse my hands first. also had to ask to have dead skin removed around my nails. besides that, every single woman sitting by me got a complimentary neck massage and i was the only one who wasn't offered one??? very weird, questionable customer service. overall, paying los angeles prices for an amateur level bad manicure in suburban jersey is not my idea of...
