The Beer Can Island is a family place where children as well as adults can enjoy a day filled with sand, water and sun light. The beach has white sand which was clean and we'll maintained. The beach was crowded at the time of our visit. However, most people kept their advices social distance. There were a few young children and a couple teens that were running all over the place and getting too close to other visitors. The children were asked by a military veteran to keep their distance but the children as well as their parents didn't seem to care about the veteran's request. Otherwise, our family enjoyed the unscheduled and short visit to this beautiful place. This beach is in our "visit soon" list. Bring lots of water...

One of my favorite beaches in Florida for it's raw natural beauty 💜❤️💙 It may not have that manicured shoreline dotted with pristine white sand or tanned bodies as far as the eye can see, or even lifeguard shacks to fall back on in case of emergency. But where it is lacking, it makes up for tenfold in its sheer breathtaking beauty, almost artistic landscape of Driftwood, and an abundance of interesting finds to wash ashore. Some of the best shells can be found here if you ask me! It's also a great place to scoop up as many teeth as you could care to want from one of nature's deadliest predators, and who knows you may just be lucky enough to find something prehistoric... The tooth of a...

This tiny little island open to the public only by way of boat is a great place to pull right up into the sand hop out with your chairs, tents, large shade umbrellas, or whatever else you brought with you and hang out for a while and have a good time. There are usually maybe three to six other people on the island at the time. It is nice to walk around on the sandy beach area. You can also set up your tent and camp out for the night. It's just a great place to hang out and enjoy the view, and good friends, and just have a good time. It's also a fun little island to race jet skis around, just watch out for...

Beer Can is beautiful, but I enjoyed it much more when it was less “mainstream”. I’ve been several times lately, and the painting of the driftwood really killed the vibe for me. When you catch it on a quiet day, it’s a really nice place to hang a hammock. There’s not more than a couple of legal parking spaces available, so that adds to its charm a bit by keeping the crowd down. The police however have cameras, and very closely monitor the area... that being said they are ON ticket writing, so I would advise abiding by all posted signage lest you find yourself fined, or worse yet, have your vehicle towed.

You don't have to have a boat to get on this Island as stated below in the reviews. If your heading towards Long Boat Key cross the bridge and take the first right, follow it all the way to the end. There is a small parking area and trail to Beer Can. Gorgeous, and plenty sea shells! Very nice and secluded. There is a bit of a walk but if you like not having alot of people around you then this is the perfect spot between Anna Maria Island and Long Boat Key. There is also a fishing pier there. I love going here every time I visit Zota Beach Resort.
