After a 3 day road trip from Pittsburgh to LBK, we were in need of a gym to use for the 2 weeks that we were going to be on the island. We came to LBK to get married. So I had a ton on my mind up until our wedding day. Cake, rings, catering, people, logistics, etc... We paid $169 for a 2 week couples membership. I thought it was a bit high. But we were in need.

We used the gym 1 day before I happen to notice that our resort offers a gym membership at another RVA resort for FREE. I notified the owner as soon as I found out and asked for a refund considering we had access to a free gym and it would save us the $169 expense. She declined any type of refund. Completely disappointing considering she probably knew how scattered my brain was from all the wedding planning.

So we made it a point to visit the gym so see if we could talk with her. And she completely ignored us.

It's a shame they weren't more accommodating on such a trying...

This gym is best suited for you if you like silence and constant judgment from the members of the gym. Make sure you’re not too loud or you’ll get kicked out.

Dirty. Unclean. I don’t think this gym was cleaned for two weeks- several cockroaches have ran past my head during a workout. We killed one and it was on the floor for 2 weeks, meaning this gym is not cleaned regularly. Lots of termites, they’re everywhere and dead on the floor. Equipment hasn’t been updated probably since opening. Things falling apart- the bench screw came out. Never enough water cups- constantly out. Constantly out of paper towels as well. Wouldn’t recommend...

I would highly recommend this gym and Robyne, the owner. She is conscientious and runs a clean gym. We have been members for 2 years and we come regularly. The 24 hour access is really nice too. Every time I have been in, the gym is clean. Most members are great about wiping down equipment after they use it, which keeps the gym and equipment cleaner than other places.
