Bella Donna Catering - Northridge Lee Hall — Attraction in Los Angeles

11/29/13 - Very happy with our choice to use Bella Donna for our wedding reception, all my guests loved the venue and food. We used the Lee Hall location and had the buffet of the Chicken Cutlets in Creamy Sun-dried Tomato Sauce, Fresh Vegetables, Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Cesar salad and rolls. Our guests were very pleased that dinner was ready on time. The wedding package is a huge value, we were very satisfied with the service. Our guests loved the food not a single complaint.

PROS: COST - incredible value, quality product, I do not believe you can get the wedding package they offer anywhere in Southern California for the quality Bella Donna provides.

VENUE - just a great set up, a wonderful space for any party I believe you could easily seat 250 and still have plenty of room for dancing. Several restrooms kept the wait time to a minimum.

PARKING - huge lot with plenty of spaces and security.

FOOD - served on time, cooked and seasoned perfectly.

CAKE - absolutely wonderful and we actually did not do a tasting so we had our fingers crossed but it was delicious. Our guests raved about it.

PROBLEM RESOLUTION - We had a few small issues the day of our wedding but all was dealt with promptly, the staff and Steve checked back often to make sure all was well.

CONS: BAR- at our initial meeting we were not informed that it was beer and wine only.

TASTING - we had a difficult time arranging a local tasting, sometimes being offered a day or two's notice. When we did do the tasting it was at another event so it was limited to what that party was serving. My suggestion, make an appointment at their Orange County kitchen for a proper tasting.

BUFFET- salad served on the same plate as food. If I were to use them again I would have the salad plated and served prior to the buffet dinner.

CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN AND CAKE - we scheduled these to be done at 8:00, we cut the cake at 8:00 and at 8:25 the chocolate fountain was still being set up and the cake had not been served. If it was scheduled at 8:00 that fountain should have been started by 7:45 my guests did not notice but I had a problem with that because a timeline was set and needed to be followed.

PROFESSIONALISM - We did not mind that potential clients came to view the hall while it was being set up for our event but it is unprofessional for the appointment to carry on into event time. After all, as the client we paid for our time and it should not be used to conduct business with other clients. No diagram for the hall set up, he drew it up on a piece of paper at our last meeting. I actually created one and forwarded it to him. That took me by surprise considering he had the estimate and invoice available electronically via his phone. The final appointment should be scheduled a month in advance we had to push for that. Steve knows his job but the client who is planning needs to be able to have the appointment to finalize the details at least a month in advance. Would I refer them or use their services again? ABSOLUTELY!!! A few snafu's but not a nightmare, any issues were dealt with promptly.Other than that Steve has...

I know it’s been a “minute” …. BUT here is the letter I sent you a year + after the most amazing Bridal Shower Tea you created for our daughter, Gab, in September of 2021.

Your work far exceeded anything we could have ever dreamed of for Gab's Bridal Shower Tea. We had a "vibe" as to what we wanted to do but we never even knew that a "tea party" like this was possible. Your expertise and impeccability shined through every aspect of the event. Your authentic presentation of a "tea party" was replicated to the "tee" (pun intended).....from your collection of the variety of vintage teacups and saucers, plates, table settings, glasses, etc. to the delectable food choices placed so delicately and lovely in their tiered caddies. The satin striped table overlays placed over the white linen table cloths were unbelievably aesthetically stunning (as you said they would be, Donna).

Every detail and everyone on your "team" delivered a never to be forgotten wonder for not only Gab, but also us.

The texts and phone calls we received after the party were filled with raving compliments and accolades! "That was the most beautiful, delicious and classy bridal shower I have ever attended".

Both of you are lovely people and did not disappoint! We want you to know that in our (my) wildest dreams we never imagined a party could be so perfect.

Thank you as well for working with Tiffany (thesweetzerlife) and partnering with her on completing the look. Her flower art just made your party "pop"!

We are still enjoying the array of leftovers. Each and every latke, quiche, tea sandwich, scone, macaroon, chocolate-covered strawberry, brownie, fruit tart are being gobbled up like crazy (know I left other delectables out).

Bella Donna catered our wedding in September. Working with Steve was such a pleasure. From the beginning he was in constant contact, allowed us to taste the food prior to selecting our food choices and on the day of, he was a breeze to work with. Our selection was garlic mashed potatoes, tri-tip, creamy sun dried tomato chicken and Italian seasonal vegetables. Everything was really delicious!!

If there was any hiccups in the process, it was that our food wasn't ready at the exact time of lunch, the caterers were running about 15 minutes behind schedule. However, this allowed for more time to toast and get everyone seated. The food not being ready on time wasn't much of a big deal because it was only behind by 15 minutes. In addition, my wedding time was at noon...which I'm sure is not the typical time that most caterers are used to having food prepared that early. In all, the food was tasty and got a lot of compliments. I feel that the quality and taste of the food is one of the most important aspects of a wedding and Bella Donna delivered.

Steve and his staff were very wonderful and truly care about their clients. Steve went above and beyond my expectations as a cater and even met me a few days before my wedding to deliver table cloths to me. By doing my this, Steve was able to save us some money so that I could I arrange my table settings on my own without having to hire his staff for additional time. In addition, Steve and his staff helped clean up after the wedding and didn't just provide the food. They constantly checked on us to make sure we were fed and our drinks were full. In the end, he even packed up the left over food and sent it home with us. Steve and Bella Donna Catering truly care about their clients satisfaction and it definitely shows.
