The real park is on either side of the Tujunga Wash, on the West side of Coldwater Canyon Blvd., between Oxnard Street & Burbank Blvd. The Park is a somewhat narrow greenbelt on both sides of the Tujunga Wash. The grass and mature trees make walking along the trails worthwhile. From the east (Coldwater Canyon side) you can see “The Great Wall of Los Angeles”, which was initially created as a Student Project and was extensively restored after years of Sun & Storm about seven years ago. The long mural depicts the history of Southern California, starting with Ice Age animals, Tongva and Chumash people and the history of the area until the 20th Century. Some of the art has a distinct political point of view, none of which I found offensive. Some of the art is very good, “Baby Boom!” Comes to mind… There are guided tours of the wall, should you want. Check online. The park itself lends itself to dog walking, running, walking, relaxing in portable chairs soaking in some Sun at the end of the day and a wide variety of hobbies and interests that sporadically show-up. There are extremely limited concrete tables & benches, so you should bring a folding chair if you want to sit.
