The University of Southern California (USC) stands as a beacon of academic excellence, innovation, and community spirit in the heart of Los Angeles. As one of the world’s leading private research universities, USC seamlessly blends a legacy of tradition with a forward-looking vision, creating an environment that inspires students to dream boldly and think critically.

One of USC’s most compelling strengths lies in its academic diversity. With highly regarded schools such as the USC Viterbi School of Engineering, the USC Marshall School of Business, the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, and the USC School of Cinematic Arts, the university offers rigorous programs that are both interdisciplinary and globally relevant. These schools are consistently ranked among the best in their fields, attracting brilliant minds from all corners of the globe and producing graduates who are equipped to lead with confidence and creativity.

Beyond academics, USC champions a culture of innovation. Its proximity to the thriving industries of Los Angeles, including entertainment, technology, and healthcare, provides students with unparalleled access to real-world experiences, internships, and professional networks. The university actively encourages entrepreneurial thinking, fostering start-ups and research ventures that bridge the gap between theory and practice.

USC’s vibrant campus life contributes significantly to its appeal. The campus itself is a beautiful blend of historic architecture and modern facilities, offering a welcoming atmosphere for students from all backgrounds. The university celebrates diversity and inclusivity through its numerous cultural organizations, resource centers, and community-driven initiatives. Whether through spirited Trojan athletic events or student-led service projects in local neighborhoods, USC cultivates a strong sense of unity and civic responsibility.

Another key highlight is USC’s alumni network, which is one of the most robust and influential in the world. From business leaders and Oscar-winning filmmakers to groundbreaking scientists and social advocates, USC alumni embody the university’s commitment to excellence and social impact. The strength of this network opens doors for mentorship, collaboration, and career advancement long after graduation.

In essence, the University of Southern California offers a transformative experience that balances intellectual rigor with personal growth. It is a place where students are not only educated but truly empowered to become global citizens and ethical leaders. With its enduring commitment to academic distinction, innovation, and community engagement, USC continues to shape the future in bold and...

Let’s be honest: USC isn’t just a university — it’s a launchpad. This is where ambition meets infrastructure. Whether it’s business, engineering, film, law, or the arts, USC is elite, unapologetically. You walk onto campus and immediately feel it — the energy, the drive, the expectation to excel. Not just participate.

USC means connections. You’re in the heart of Los Angeles — a global capital of tech, media, finance, and culture. Professors aren’t just scholars; they’re industry insiders. Internships? They’re in the same zip code. The Trojan alumni network? One word: untouchable. You say “USC,” doors open. Period.

Now, let’s talk UC Davis.

It wants to be taken seriously. But it doesn’t deliver. You’re isolated in farmland, surrounded by institutional red tape and academic inertia. It’s a system more focused on containing students than elevating them. You’re not built up — you’re processed.

You don’t graduate empowered. You graduate unnoticed.

USC demands excellence. Davis deflects it. Try to lead at UC Davis and you’re often met with passive resistance, capped ambition, and a culture that prioritizes playing it safe. Original thinking? Not welcomed. Career focus? You’ll have to build your own path — with little help and fewer resources.

And the outcomes? Don’t get fooled by acceptance rates and generic rankings. USC grads are in Silicon Valley, Wall Street, Hollywood — leading. UC Davis grads? Often undersold, underpaid, and under-networked.

ROI? At USC, you’re investing in power. At Davis, you’re paying to be forgotten.

Yes, USC is competitive, it’s intense, and it’s expensive — but you get what you pay for. A degree that commands respect. An ecosystem that fuels ambition. A campus alive with opportunity.

So let’s get this straight: USC creates game changers. UC Davis creates complacency. USC builds brands. UC Davis blends you into the background.

If you’re choosing between the two — don’t settle for a...

Henry’s Take, Takes L.A.! Part 3

I have no idea how many Graduations that I’ve attended over the years, but I honestly can’t remember one better planned than the one I attended today at USC. The organizers clearly put some serious thought into not only the experience of the Graduating class, but also that of their family and friends in attendance.

The seating opportunities accommodated all of those in attendance AND included shade for the entirety of each section (which is something I have never experienced at any outdoor Graduation)! There were multiple televisions and speakers positioned throughout to clearly broadcast the activities on stage, they prioritized one quality and inspirational speaker (rather than a series of short, superficial speeches), and facilitated several smaller ceremonies to avoid a singular marathon event that tests the endurance of even the most devoted family member or supportive boyfriend/girlfriend.

Although Former President Barrack Obama, accompanied by Former First Lady Michelle Obama, were in attendance to observe the graduation of their daughter (fact), they respectfully declined our request to be interviewed for this post (not true, given the fact that we never got anywhere near close enough to even ask them). 😞

Although this USC Dornsife class joins the previous 100,000 alumni (beginning with the first class of 1884) it possesses the unique distinction of abjectly refusing to permit a pandemic to derail their educational and future career goals. Nice job Grads! 💪👩‍🎓👨‍🎓

The Graduate that we attended to support received her degree in French, so it seems only fitting that we encourage her with the following message:

Il n’y a pas de raccourci pour aller la ou ca vaut la peine d’aller.

And that’s…Henri’s Take. ...
