Landing in LA for a conference, we were wandering near the village, hungry for something new. That's when we stumbled upon City Tacos, a place that quickly made me envious of every USC student lucky enough to have this culinary delight right on their doorstep. My initial envy, spurred by the thought of students enjoying these tacos on the regular, turned into sheer amusement once I weighed the costs of tuition against my taco indulgence. Let's just say, visiting occasionally felt like the better deal, especially with my wallet breathing a sigh of relief.

The variety of sauces and the promise of a vegan-friendly menu had me intrigued from the get-go. The Avocado City taco was my first pick – a masterful blend of tempura avocado, coleslaw, tomato, onion, arugula, microgreens, all brought together with a creamy blue cheese vinaigrette. It was a symphony of flavors, textures, and freshness, all in one bite. And the best part? It was vegan-friendly upon request.

As for the second taco, its name escapes me, but the memory of its taste lingers on. It was either the City Zucchini, with its crispy golden zucchini, caramelized onions, and a vibrant mix of cherry tomatoes, olives, capers, black beans, and corn, all crowned with microgreens and a tangy lime aioli. Or it could have been the Chile Relleno, a beer-battered marvel filled with oaxaca and cotija cheeses, topped with the fresh zing of arugula, tomato, onion, cilantro, and that unforgettable lime aioli. Whichever it was, it captured my heart and taste buds in a way few dishes do. Sitting outside, soaking up the fantastic LA weather, added another layer to the experience. The service was friendly, making us feel right at home despite the bustling campus vibe. Granted, the place could've used a bit more tidying up, but given its location, it was easy to overlook in favor of the overall vibe and mouth-watering tacos. In the end, City Tacos was more than just a meal; it was an experience that blended great weather, good company, and exceptional food into one memorable visit. It's a spot I'd recommend to anyone, student or not, looking for a taste of what makes LA's food scene so uniquely vibrant. And while I might not envy the tuition bills, I definitely envy the students their regular access to such...

I am disappointed that you hirer up management took off the taquitos and other foods that we like to order. Please reconsider your decision because you guys are going to loose lots of customers and I see less people coming in here. I work for usc and I know my coworkers are not happy with this change. You have great cooks upfront service. Your employees are facing angry customers and nasty type too. You shouldn't put that on your employees. They know all the customers here. Some of your breakfast venue is gone and other ones I don't see in the venue. I am seeing a low sales soon. Bring back the old venue. Thank you so much. Adding to my previous review I want emphasize that Karina know all of your clientele and memorized what they come in for, karina is a great asset to your company loosing Karina will be a really bad situation for you guys. Also Jose your cook is super good at cooking he moves quick and cooks to the presize point on how long the food has to be done properly And let's not forget Omar has done a great job on cooking as well. You guys have a really good team here at the village don't change them and I hope you guys can reward them money wise. If you loose any of your cooks you will loose quality and efficiency. I do recommend citi tacos to all of the people I know. I hope this review and what it has been post it won't be forgotten please compensate them monetarily or you will loose them so will most of your clientele. Thank you a true customer for city tacos. PS I'm still waiting for for the rolled up taquitos and the the other Dorado tacos. Keep up with...

I'm pescatarian and tried a few different tacos from here including: pescado, Cameron enchilado and the mahi a la veracruzana. I would rate Cameron as #1, pescado as #2 and mahi last. I wasn't the biggest fan of mahi because it wasn't as flavorful to me and I'm personally not the biggest fan of corn tortillas. But their corn tortilla still ranks as a great tortilla in my book. The tacos were very filling with an explosion of flavor in every bite. I love love love their flour tortillas. Another pro are their sauces/salsas. Delicious! I'm personally a saucy kinda girl. 💁🏾‍♀️ On another occasion I got the Cali Munch Burrito with shrimp and it didn't disappoint. That thing is huge and filling. I can imagine that this place gets packed but the sticky tables when I went were EW. 😖 I could feel the spirit of the past humans who dined and drank there. Lol I preferred to eat at home than stay in there. Nonetheless a cute place as far as decor goes.

As of September 16, 2023 my review has changed. The quality has seemed to go downhill. I ordered a burrito and a taco from them. They got my order wrong so I had to reorder. They were really nice about it which I appreciated, but the food I wish I never paid for. The flavors seriously lacked. The burrito seemed like a bunch of mush inside a tortilla. Also, the inside of the establishment looks worse....looks quite unclean and unkept. I don't plan on going back here until they get...

While tacos are certainly not difficult to find in LA, one thing I love about City Tacos is the combination of flavors that are a little bit different from a lot of taco stands. I’m very much a seafood tacos kind of person and I love their fish and shrimp tacos. Service is pretty fast and they load it up with a bunch of different items that come together for a very good texture explosion, from crunchy to soft. It’s a little more expensive ($4-5 per taco usually) but honestly I think it’s worth it and there’s never a line. I’ve heard great things about their breakfast burrito so I’ll have to stop by next time!
