My sons high school graduation was just recently held there on Friday June the 1st. At first i wasnt real excited about having to drive all the way to Louisville considering that he was graduating from Spencer County High School but after attending the event i seen why they had the graduation there. The amount of students they had graduating along with the students family friends and etc. the Broadbent Arena was packed with people. But with that being said it was a perfect place to hold a high school graduation. Even though there were several in attendance you had plenty of space and was not crowded no matter where you sat at you had a good seat and could hear and see everything perfectly. The only downside that I seen about having the graduation there was the fact that you had to pay $8 for parking. In my opinion Spencer County High School should have had that taken care of prior to the event you know at least parking for the parents parking passes or something but all in all in my opinion I would highly recommend this place for more graduations the parking is great minus the cost of it and all the staff that work at the Broadbent Arena that I dealt with was really nice and very helpful and showing you where to go I was...
Read moreElse a lifetime Louisville resident, it hurts me to give this frankly generous 3 star rating. Parking is a notorious pain. Almost by magic every Every lot is a freaking 2 mile hike from building access. That's after dealing with the limited, poorly laid out, and technologically backward fairgrounds access gates. And though these points of entry [air quotes omitted] have stood essentially unchanged since star chaser was still a thing, somehow the price to enter the parking lot continues to increase.
Inside the building, hallways are inadequate to allow for the flow of humans the building is "designed to accommodate". A grim reality compounded by the installation of vendor stations unashamedly planted in the middle of the dang walkways. Heaven help you if you are looking for a bathroom while navigating the teeming mass of humanity. Signage is small, the opposite of prominently placed, and unclear regarding gender until you discover you've walked 500 yards in the exact wrong direction.
But if you are into those buildings that have stairways leading to nothing, doors that open onto sheer drops and every madness conceived by the demonic love child of MC Escher and Salvador Dali, this is your place...
Read moreI traveled from Illinois and attended my grandson's high school graduation there. I assume this arena was less costly and preferred; as this class of graduates was large in number. Then, too, there was no limitation on attending guests per graduate. Upon entering the facility, an unpleasant odor of housed animals was present, but my nostrils adapted. Acquiring a seat for my son and I was annoying. Too many seats were unoccupied but blocked off; they were being saved for late arriving guest. In fact, several altercations occurred because of the seating situation. After stumbling on the steps a few times, a generous gentleman invited my son and I to two available seats at the last and highest row in the section next to a cement beam. The seating was close in proximity, outdated and uncomfortable. A $12.00 parking fee, but the lines at the payment booths moved fast. However, due to so many vehicles in the parking lot and having no traffick patrols...,getting out of the parking lot was quite frustrating. Nevertheless, I am one proud...
