George Rogers Clark Park has always been one of my favorite places to play, explore and learn. My children attended sports practice in the large fields here. The children always enjoyed the play ground, water sprinklers, basketball and tennis. I always took my dog daughter too! George Rogers Park is full of history as well as folklore. I have spent many days at this beautiful place over my lifetime and still look forward to every visit. My very favorite thing to see is the Bald Cypress Tree. Ever since I was old enough to remember my grandparents took me for walks to the breathtaking Cypress while they told me the folklore stories making this tree so unique, mysterious and exciting. I shared this experience with my children as they grew when I took them to George Rogers Park to play and visit the Cypress . We would often walk down the trail and have a picnic lunch together on a blanket near the Cypress tree. If this Cypress tree could talk it would never run out of stories to tell!!! I just hope it doesn’t mention any names. I still visit and always go down to the Bald Cypress Tree, “ down memory lane “! What a breathtaking masterpiece this giant of a tree has always been! Here are a few photos I took recently. I hope you enjoy them as...

I rented the lodge for the family reunion. Everyone was so happy, we all agree up going there. They said a worker would meet me at a time which we agreed on. I arrived early so IU could get a good jump start. I waited and waited.... No one ever showed up. I then thought to check the doors. The place had several garage bags in kitchen. The floor was sticking. Not I expected for the what I paid to rent it. I had to clean the only dust mop there. I was black with faith. I tried to wash it with it with dish soap that I could use it a a mop to clean the floors. The bathrooms were horrible. There was trash everywhere. Luckily, I brought some cleaning items to clean. There was trash all around the outside that I had to clean up. I know this park is very busy with all kinds of family, friends and sporting events. It's sad to see how it's getting run down. It has been a safe family place..., Since, George Rogers Clark. His family members are buried there which makes it more valuable. PLEASE don't let this park go bad. I remember there was a man that used to work there. He really cared about everyone's safety and kept...

I'm so very blessed to have the most greatest memories every since childhood with this beautiful and peaceful park. I celebrated my 14 year sons birthday here for a few plus years. Now for what only sounds like a fairy tail. The love of my life reached out to me and I was blown completely straight to the clouds( cloud nine).... The third time that we had met my love took me to George Rogers Park!!!!! It was the most amazing breath taking heavenly answered prayers from God!!!!!! Scott and I both went to the same grade school... I was mesmerized and over the hills and so crazy in love with him it was awesome. I felt that not even the tallest mountains could not be climbed just so I could peek around and over that mountain just to see him!!! back when we was kids I couldn't find myself to approach him with all the awesome feelings I had for him. Also to let him know how just thinking about him makes my heart rush while making magical sensational blood flow straight to get within my...

Great huge park , had my son bday party here and a couple family members followed suit . It’s tucked away but it’s awesome and has everything you could want in a park . Hills, trees, open land to run around. Park, baseball/kickball field and basketball court . Plenty of grills and tables with enough space for multiple families to gather without interfering with each other

I love George Rogers! The playground never seems to be crowded, it's in a super convenient location, and the wooded area is perfect for dogs or cross-country practice. It's definitely one if the highlights of Germantown.
