Jenny’s Salon — Attraction in Lower Allen

I’ve been here a few times before and had a good experience. I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but unfortunately I cannot recommend anyone to get their haircut by Morgan. She seems like a nice person, but she needs to go back to school and learn how to give a basic haircut. I showed her a photo of what I wanted, she studied the photo a few times. I told her I wanted my hair like the photo, and said the length to be to the bottom of my chin, like in the photo. She even confirmed again while she was cutting what length I wanted it. And in the end, it was up to my ears, a good 2-3 inches shorter than what I wanted, and looks nothing like the photo. When you spend over $50 +tip, for that price you expect someone to be able to give you a very basic haircut and have it turn out how you wanted it, especially when you show them a very clear photo and description of what you want. I’ve had some bad haircuts in the past when I went to a cheap place to get it cut. But this is by far the worst haircut I’ve ever had. And it’s too short to even try to fix it. It would be nice if the manager contacted me and offered me a refund, but I haven’t heard any response from them at all. I would have asked not to pay except when I left I was in complete shock and just paid and left out of habit. I couldn’t even form any words let alone protest in the moment. After she cut it I asked her to style it like the photo, and she made my hair look like frickin strawberry shortcake, looks NOTHING even remotely close to the photo of what I wanted. Granted my hair color was how I had it before she cut it, but she styled it by blow drying it with a roller brush to make it poofy, and then curled it with a curling iron so I had poofy curls all over my head. And since I wear glasses I couldn’t see how it looked until she was done, hence why I was just in complete and utter shock. I’ve never had anyone cut my hair so terribly in my life. The photos are the photo I showed her of what I wanted and the photo I took in my car after she cut and styled it to “look like the picture.” When I tried to style it myself, the layers are like chunks, not at all like the photo. My bangs have a few short hairs but if I pull the bangs down like they should be to match the photo, half are down to my nose, so the length of the bangs are all over the place. And even when I straighten my hair the length is to the bottom of my ears, not the bottom of my chin like I told her I wanted and like it is in the photo I showed her. You can’t see the back and sides in the photo, but there was small, tight, poofy curls all over my head. I looked like a frickin baby doll. Every morning I wake up and have to fix my hair I just want to cry. I have to spend an hour straightening all the little hairs just to make it look decent. When I told her normally I just put some styling cream in my hair and let it go naturally. If I tried that now, I’d have chunky, poofy messy hair and look like a toddler that just crawled out of bed after getting ahold of scissors and chopping off their own hair. Also, before this haircut, my hair was down past my shoulders, so there’s no excuse.

Update: 4 months later and still no response from the business. Never going back there again. And my hair is just now barely the length I wanted it at the time. Which means it’s now several inches shorter than what I wanted it to keep my neck warm in the winter. So now I’m just cold. Paige is the most trustworthy, talented and caring hairstylist, color correction expert, color expert, and all around wonderful human being! I reached out to set up an appointment with her before I start a new job and I was so amazed by the results. She was attentive and informative about the processes taking place throughout the appointment since my hair has previously been colored (by my wife) with a pinkish purple color that she was able to safely strip without damaging my hair. I decided to have a surprise color and cut since I trust her implicitly and I love all the colors of the rainbow and am ok if it’s something out of my comfort zone. She truly did an amazing job consulting with other artists there as well as my wife and came up with an absinthe color and added some noire. It is truly my new vibe! I am in love with my hair and get compliments from so many strangers I interact with. The cut is to die for! I can now style my hair easily and it has opened up so many options since I’ve been growing my hair out for awhile. While Paige cut my wife’s hair, I headed over to Becki to get my brows shaped and I’ll tell you now that she mapped out the perfect shape and helped me understand brow care and ways to help me keep them in shape. I am just going to say that every single person at this salon made me feel welcome and comfortable from the friendly interaction walking in the door to the iced coffee I enjoyed while relaxing. Upon searching salons for a Bob style haircut, I decided to book an appointment online with this salon and paid my deposit. About an hour or two later, I kept getting messages and phone calls from stylists asking me if I can come in earlier then the appointment that I booked, which was at 6:15. The stylist wanted me to come in at 4:30 and I told her that I could not because I work and I wouldn’t be able to be there until the scheduled time. They wanted me to reschedule my appointment for another day because they felt that they would need to take more time to be able to cut my hair and the stylist commented that it looks like I wanted a silk press. I never asked for a silk press, and all I wanted was my hair cut into a bob and washed and conditioned. Upon her judging the photos, for some reason, she felt I wanted a silk press which a silk press really does not take that long. But at the end of the day I had to end up canceling my appointment and receiving my deposit back. I feel that this is very unprofessional because I scheduled an appointment and it says on your website that you don’t close until 9 PM which is enough time for you to wash and cut my hair. I don’t know what idea the stylist had but she just glanced at the photo and felt like that style was out of her realm so she did not want to perform that style and I would never ever book an appointment here again.
