Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Lower Allen

Last night we ordered Papa John’s pizza which we have done several times before because we like their pizza. Being Halloween we ordered 2 well ahead of time 7 pizzas and some extras for a 5pm delivery to feed an army of trick or treat kids we had over for a group walk. After waiting an extra 60 minutes, calling the store with no answer we figured they were crazy busy or there was some sort of medical emergency since there was just no answer. Turns out they were overly busy due to the volume for the night. I think many of us have all been in a situation where demands are much greater that you can service. After 90 minutes we just decided to go trick or treating and call the store during the walk, about 7pm we got a hold of the manager who apologized and handled the situation gracefully. We still had hungry kids, so we said send the food anyway if it’s still fresh.

The delivery person showed up and we weren’t home yet and knowing “just leaving the pizzas” would result in cold pizzas for our family the delivery person left not only the pizzas but the warming bags on our porch. When we arrived home 30 minutes later we found two bags with all our stuff full of still piping hot pizzas that were delicious and everyone was happy. I appreciate the store doing this very much, as I feel like a little understanding from both parties...

We ordered a large pep (well done), garlic knots, and 4 pepperonchinis via DoorDash. Delivery time was reasonable but, on arrival, the extra peppers were not included and the pizza was essentially uncut. There were score marks but it didn't make it through the crust at all. Tried to call using the number DoorDash directed us to for an order issue, simply to get some kind of credit for the peppers we paid for since I didn't expect them to send a driver the whole way back out for a few peppers. We were routed to a store in Minnesota (from PA) that said they'd been getting those calls all day and to call the store direct from Google. Tried that, and their number was offline. Not super mad, but the runaround and clear disregard for the order is really troubling. Will likely not be ordering again if I have no way to resolve obvious oversights. I understand Friday nights and being busy, but I don't understand being unreachable while disregarding entire order items and not being able to take the time to...

I'm surprised at all the hate in the reviews. It's fast food chain restaurant pizza. It's not gourmet, but it's good and it's cheap if you use the coupons that are literally always available. You can pretty much get either half off or BOGO any day of the week, and sometimes there are other coupons that you can combine with that such as getting a free cheese sticks order.

As far as this store in particular goes, the staff have always been friendly, and the only time I've ever had an issue with the pizza was getting one that wasn't cooked all the way through due to it having about 7 or 8 toppings on it. Now whenever I get a pizza with a lot of toppings I just order it cooked "well done," and it's not been an issue since.

If you were looking for gourmet pizza, there are places you can go for that. It's $25 - $ 30 per pizza, but it's an option. If you went to Papa Johns and were disappointed when a $7 large pizza wasn't comparable, you have...
