Storm Crow in Lubbock is hands down one of the best game stores I’ve been to! I’ve visited many times with my brother and sister, and every trip is a great experience. My brother and I love board games, and their selection is fantastic. They also have a really solid collection of tabletop RPGs, and every time I go, there’s something new to check out. Their TCG section is also impressive not only do they carry the big names like Magic, Pokémon, and Disney Lorcana, but they also have a variety of smaller card games, which is great to see. The only thing missing is One Piece, but I understand since it’s still relatively new. One of the biggest highlights of this store is the staff. Every time I walk in, I’m greeted by friendly and knowledgeable employees who genuinely care about helping customers. If I don’t understand something, they take the time to explain it without making me feel dumb. Recently, I started collecting Pokémon cards with my sister, and one of the staff members (who’s always there when I visit) patiently walked me through how it all works. Their help made getting into the hobby even more enjoyable! The only minor issue I’ve had was when my sister was buying a stack of cards, and it took about 45 minutes to get a price. One employee was looking at the wrong pricing, which made it seem high, but thankfully another staff member caught the mistake and fixed it. Besides that, every experience has been great, and I always make sure to buy something to support the store because they’re just that awesome. If you’re into board games, tabletop RPGs, or TCGs, I highly recommend checking out Storm Crow. You won’t be...
Read moreThis is definitely the place to go for anything Citadel in this area, however…the establishment reeks of snobbery. The Tall lanky fellow(Lurch) could implement just an iota more of hospitality. I recall a time when I would drive two hours from Odessa just to come to Storm Crows and it was a great experience, unfortunately it seems the good times never last. Anyhow, I recommend Mad Hatter’s any day of the week. They may not have Citadel, but they have a smile on their face, they’re kind and there is no pretentiousness. Also, I feel I should mention Conner had excellent phone manners. If these two people are the same, then I’m shook. Henceforth I shall just order online and spare myself of...
Read moreThis review is WAY overdue, as I am no longer residing in TX as of 8 months ago.
I met some individuals online to meet for new, beginner Pathfinder. We chose this shop as our secondary meeting place after Mad Hatters, only because Mad Hatters is a much larger location holding more groups and people. The shop has THE BEST selection of cards, board games, books, dice, minis, everything you can think of! The staff is extremely welcoming, inviting, shop is clean and well-kept, and the overall atmosphere was 10/10. I definitely recommend Storm Crow as opposed to Mad Hatters, solely based off the size and the overall volume in the store. I am so sad to leave this shop behind, but...
