A pleasant surprise!
This location used to be a Taco Bell. When I saw them remodeling the place, I was excited to see what moved in. I finally got a chance to try this place out the other day, and it really was a pleasant surprise.
When I walked in, my first impression was, "this not gonna be that good." The overall appearance of the place is pretty bland and basic. The kitchen looked pretty small, and the remodeling looked a little low-class. I could only really see one person working there, and it looked like the traffic was slow. They have an extensive menu overhead, with many choices, and I just could not see where all this variety could come out of such a small kitchen with minimal staff, with any quality, that is.
I placed an order for the Chile Verde plate, and my wife had the Carne Asada plate. We barely got seated before our name was called. Then I really thought that I was in for a disappointment. But such was not the case.
When I went to the front to get our order, the first thing I noticed was how heavy the bag was. I was like, "Whoa! this is a lot of food". The first bite of my delicious Chili Verde pork completely cured my fears about how the food would be. It was great. In fact, everything was great. The rice and beans were perfectly seasoned. My wife loved her Carne Asada just as much. And they don't skimp on the quantity of food they give you. Oh! Did I mention the salsa? Yeah, those were great too.
Poliberto's was a welcome surprise I did not expect. Great food at a great price. The place could stand a little sprucing up, but as long as they keep the food tasting great at a great price, I will be coming...
Read moreHi everyone and thank you for reading my review!
I am pleased to write about the experience at Polibertos. We arrived at the drive thru a little after 8pm and were greeted kindly. I noticed that the prices on the menu were a bit exorbitant. However, with the cost of food rising at the national level, I understood the price increase.
We purchased a Carne Guisada French fry plate with avocados, cheese and sour cream. We also purchased a barbacoa burrito 🌯- I asked for no onion. The barbacoa had a small amount of cilantro which gave it great flavor. I must say that their rendition of tex-mex cuisine is exceptional. The Carne guisada was moist and tender and the flavors were on point.
On the downside, the Carne Guisada French fry portion was not as ample as I would have expected. Afterall, the cost of this one meal was nearly $10 before tax. The barbacoa burrito was definitely worth the price. The burrito was super sized and very tasty. The salsa was extremely watery, but definitely had good spice and flavor - they offer both red and green sauce (salsa).
Our total for the 2 meals was a bit over $17 without drinks or sides - not to bad. I would definitely recommend this location and will try other items on the menu very soon. Once again - thank you for...
