James F. Atchison Memorial Park — Attraction in Lyon Charter Township

We came here for the Lyon Township Kite Festival and this park was great for that! Parking was well coordinated, and for the $10 parking fee, everything else about the event was free. There was lots of open space and because the park is situated at the top of a hill, it was perfect for kite flying.

I didn't get to experience much else about the park but I would love to come back for the playground and disc golf course...

Fun little park. Playground is pretty small, but it has a great little sledding hill/bowl on the side. Saskatoon and mulberry trees, and a nice open windy hilltop for flying kites (this is the site for a yearly kite festival)! Also, a frisbee golf course that seems pretty popular. There aren't many official trails, if any, but plenty of wandering, and a connection to the Huron...

Cute little playground! We stopped for a quick brunch during a road trip. The play equipment is sturdy and fun. Bathrooms were closed for the off-season. They also have a covered picnic area.
