Blue Hawk was a really disappointing experience. The ride itself gave me serious back pain—it’s just way too rough and uncomfortable. On top of that, the lines were extremely long, making the wait frustrating and exhausting. To make matters worse, the ride broke down multiple times while I was waiting, causing even more delays. Honestly, Vekoma’s design on this coaster feels outdated and poorly executed. It’s neither fun nor smooth, and definitely not worth the time or discomfort. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a good coaster experience. Overall, a terrible ride that brought down my day at Six Flags Over Georgia.

Situated over a small lake, Blue Hawk is a gorgeous looking Vekoma 5-looper that uses comfortable vest restraints. Formerly Ninja (and before that, Kamikaze), this roller coaster features a unique element called a "butterfly" alongside a double corkscrew. It reaches a speed of 52mph and stands 122ft tall with a military theme. You can snap some very picturesque photos of this ride thanks to the reflection in the water below it!

This Vekoma is surprisingly nice to ride. The newer trains remove any chance of head banging! There are a couple times you do get jarred into the turns but it’s not bad considering the age of this coaster. The paint job is beautiful. The inversions are forceful and really lay on the positive Gs. The front will give you a slightly smoother ride.

This was my first “big coaster” ever and being deathly afraid of heights and G’s and anything of the sort, I found this to be FANTASTIC. For me, it is the comfort of the vest restraint that I found super reassuring. After my first time on it I immediately was excited and wanted to go a second time, this after my friend had to beg and drag me to ride it because of how terrified I was. After this one, we rode the Riddler, Dare Devil Dive, Scorcher and Twisted Cyclone and this was STILL my favorite ride.

It looks very intimidating but once you are secure in the restraints it makes it so much more enjoyable if you are afraid of coasters. It still scares the mess out of me especially that drop and pretzel right at the beginning but it is truly awesome and I wouldn’t have ridden the others if not for it. I also don’t know why people comment that it is rough because I found it to be soo smooth even in the pretzels but especially in the inversions and corners. I was originally going to ride the Riddler first but after riding Blue Hawk, I found the Riddler much “scarier” and certainly more uncomfortable.

This one opened me up to riding the others as they didn’t seem that daunting anymore. I still avoided Goliath so there’s still some fear there but this ride was...

NOTE THE FOLLOWING REVEIW IS ABOUT THE FORMER NINJA, BEFORE IT WAS REMODELED INTO BLUE HAWK

I only rode this as a last resort. My family was waiting in a long line for Southern BBQ Chicken, and the ninja was nearby. Only I wanted to go on this, even though I heard that it was the roughest ride on the planet. So me, and my infinite ignorance, went right up (with little to no line) and rode this skull-splitter. Even when you first turn out of the station, you hit your head on the restraints (Over-the-Shoulder restraints of course). The whole ride felt like a real ninja, propeller-kicking your skull to pieces. This ride was the sole reason I brought Ibuprofen to the park. A whole bottle! I needed that after riding this.

Now this thing is Blue Hawk, featuring retracting, better trains, and new paint/theme. If I ever revisit here, I'll ride the new Ninja. I know it...

I rode the old ninja and like everyone else, I hated it because of how rugged the ride was. I never rode again because it was just as painful as the cyclone.

Well, apparently I wasn't the only one saying this, and enough people relayed the message to the park for them to revamp and modernize the thing. I rode it again as its new self, and while it isn't a coaster that makes you feel a lot in your gut or otherwise, it's now a solid ride. Coolest part about it is looking around as you're on it because of all its loops and inversions over its very own man-made (albiet disgustingly polluted) lake. For that reason I'd recommend that you ride the very front or back. It looks big and scary, but I think it's tame enough for people who are afraid of...
