We moved from upstate New York to Opelika Alabama about 6 days ago, have never been down here before in our life just moved down here for my husbands job. Mind you I'm 21 and my husband 22, we love the Six flags darien lake in NY but when we went to this one today it was absolutely terrible! It was 90° or more outside and this place only had like 3 stands open for drink refills. Me and my husband have season passes (adventure passes so we can use them at any six flags in the country) and dining passes. When we arrived my pass was working and my husband's wasn't so we had to wait in line for another 20 mins and then pulled to the side and speak with a manager. Finally got in and went to get food and my meal pass worked but my husband's did not after waiting in line for a drink and food for an hour because like I said they only have 3 stands throughout the whole park open for food and drinks in extreme heat (should be illegal, me and my husband were so hot, I felt like I was going to pass out) because of how hot it was and couldn't get a drink when needed. This park is extremely rundown and overly packed with people, the pool isn't even 4 feet deep and people kept pushing and splashing . The cement was so hot it melted my flip-flops and burnt my feet, we got a can of sunscreen from one of the shops and it was $20!!!!!! Also the food I got from one out of the 3 places open was disgusting!!!! Kids were making the food and looked so depressed and sad with their lives and job (probably because of how hot they keep their stores no air conditioners for their workers) me and my husband threw all our food away. We drove an hour and a half there and was definitely a waste of our time! We didn't enjoy ourselves at all and were miserable the whole 1 hour we were there. If I could give it no stars or negative stars I would. We will NEVER be going there again. Please do not waste your money or time...
Read moreI hate to write bad reviews but this is needed. For the past two years I have been trying to enjoy six flags attractions but always end up being disappointed. Today I was planning to go to the Hurricane Harbor water park with the kids. I checked the hours on google and on the website and it showed as open. I tried to call three times before buying the tickets online to confirm the hours and nobody answered me, I left three voicemails and nobody got back to me. I decided to believe the online info, bought the online tickets for general admission and went to the park. I paid $35 for Six Flags over Georgia parking, I even asked if that was the same parking lot for Hurricane Harbor and the staff confirmed (nobody mentioned it was closed). I walked to the entrance and there was a sign saying that Hurricane Harbor was closed. I talked to a staff and he said they changed the hours and will only open on the weekends from now on and directed me to go the tickets cabin to request a refund. I went to the tickets cabin, explain to the attendant the situation and requested a refund. She said that since I live in Georgia, I could just go another day, but I told her I was not planning on going back and wanted my refund. After a while she said she would request that and the money would get back to my card in a week. I asked about the refund for the $35 I paid on the parking lot entrance and she told me they won't refund that to me. She said that I was using the parking and Six Flags Over Georgia was open. This is so ridiculous, I was there with small kids in swimsuits expecting to go to a water park that was supposed to be open and they refuse to return the...
Read moreWe got the season pass. So yesterday was just the theme park. Today was Cabana day. With our large family we had to get a cabana. We had five kids with us and age from 17 to 4. We arrived at me. When the water parks open. I do have to tell you in advance that the water park is located way in the back of the park it takes us about 15 to 20 minutes to get to there. So if you're planning keep that in mind. We are allowed to bring our own coolers and food in. For our platinum cabana two large pizzas were included and drinks. There was some sodas included. So here are the frowns, there is no towel service, there is no adult beverage service, and the chairs to sleep on are basic plastic chairs that lay back To their credit the attendee does come to check on you periodically to bring, plates, water, paper towels The bathrooms at hurricane harbor are horrible, wet and full of clogged toilet and paper towels We did enjoy our stay. This allowed the oldest boys and family to wander the park whilst I stayed behind while the baby napped. I was also able to get some sun Just wished for a little detail for the price paid Oh yes and there is a 'private area' for you to. Lounge on. The concrete is too painful for that and their are no barriers for other people to cross over...
