I would not work with this dealership specifically. My husband and I bought a vehicle here and at Hanford Toyota, and have had a far better experience at Hanford.
Approximately 3.5 weeks ago, my husband and I went into this dealership to buy a car for my husband and worked with Bryan. My husband settled on a vehicle that was supposed to be arriving during an estimated delivery time frame of 4/7-4/19.
We traded in his vehicle to this dealership and they allowed him to borrow it for 1 week after we left that night with the offer that a rental would be available should he need it after that rental period. My husband had to borrow a family member's vehicle for 2 more weeks while the end of the estimated delivery time frame came and went. This family member has been very gracious in allowing him to borrow it, but after 2 weeks, they reasonably needed it back.
As of this day nearly a month later, my husband's car is still not here and he is left without transportation.
After receiving updates that were not true regarding the vehicle's status (they told us a few days ago that it left the port and was on its way to the dealership - then they said never mind, it's still at the port), we have no idea when this car will be arriving for pickup because they keep pushing back the dates.
We have called to follow up regarding the rental and they want more money after taking nearly 50K and my husband's previous vehicle to cover a potential rental. Their best offer was to provide a discount for a rental, but that would still have us pay additional fees after we had already bought a whole vehicle and it failed to arrive within the 2 week estimated delivery range. We requested that the matter be escalated to a supervisor, as that did not seem reasonable to us. A manager, Alex, called back and was unwilling to offer my husband a rental vehicle at no cost, stating that these delays are very common and that they didn't make much money off of us.
If delays are this common, why not incorporate that into the estimated delivery time? Mind you, they have a rental agency that is part of Toyota services on site so this would be an easy solution until the vehicle arrives at the dealership.
Regardless of how much money they think they did not make off of us, they provided a time frame for the arrival of his car that has come and gone, and they are unwilling to provide him with transportation between now and when the car finally arrives at the dealership.
So in sum (TLDR), I would not shop again with this dealership due to their failure to provide essential information about when the vehicle my husband already bought would arrive, and in that deficit, they refuse to make it right by providing him with supplemental transportation in the meantime.
I will be telling my circles about this experience. So far, we are hearing multiple stories of shady practices (outside of the usual sales tactics) coming from this dealership specifically. They may have an additional free maintenance warranty, but at least one other Toyota location will not touch the vehicle if this location has done maintenance on it. In my opinion, it's not worth it to do business here. There are plenty of other Toyota locations in the Central Valley and I would recommend going to any of those with Hanford being my next choice.
If they make this right, I would be happy to update...
Read moreIt was in the early evening of Monday, August 12, 2024 that we decided to buy a Camry from Madera Toyota Dealer. The salesperson named Alex was very rude at first. He was not fully attending to our questions. He ignored us and showed us the attitude that we didnât have to buy the car. He even said that, if we didnât want it, he wouldnât mind taking the risk of letting the car sit on the lot. He changed his tone and was more attentive after knowing that we could easily afford the car.
However, while we were doing the paperwork for the Camry inside the smaller salesâ office, I saw three guys with a different salesperson getting into the Camry that we were buying. I went outside and told them that we had already decided to buy this Camry and were doing the paperwork inside; therefore, I didnât want them to test drive it. Then the salesperson and the three men got out of the car and went to the other bigger sales office for a couple of minutes and went back out to the Camry and test-drove it anyway. I believe he went inside to talk to the sales manager in the other sales office.
I was very unhappy and asked our salesperson to see a sales manager. Tyler Duffin, one of the sales managers from the bigger sales office, came to see me. He was even ruder and talked to me in a very commanding manner that other customers had all the rights to test drive the car even though we were doing the paperwork to buy the car at the moment. He told me that, if he had another Camry in the dealer, then he would not have used the one we bought for them to test drive. Literally, he was saying that he could use my car for business dealing as long as it was still within the Madera Toyota Dealer limit. He showed the same âwho caresâ attitude as the salesperson that I didnât have to buy the car because someone else would buy it soon. He continued to reiterate that, as long as the car was still in Madera Toyota Dealer, he had all the rights to have other customers to test drive it.
Tyler Duffin was so rude and disrespectful to us. His childish âwho caresâ attitude of âYou donât have to buy itâ was intolerable. My wife and I would have left immediately if that Camry was not meant for my daughter who has been searching to buy a car for quite some time. I understand that it is a sellerâs market for Camry, but these two salespeople didnât need to be that rude and disrespectful to us. I believe they have chased many other customers away with their harsh demeanor.
I can say without any hesitation that it was our first and last time there in the Madera Toyota dealer. Today I am still in disbelief that there were such despicable salespeople like them in the sales business. We have never been treated that badly...
Read moreIâve been buying vehicles from Madera Toyotas for over 10 plus years. Iâve referred many, many friends, co workers and family members who had purchased their vehicles from there as well.
I acquired about a new Sienna minivan back in November from Angelica for myself. I also mentioned to her to find 2 more Siennas for my two brothers who are also looking for new Sienna minivans as well.
I mentioned to her and her partner Isabell that I donât need and I will not pay for their added âOptional Non-Toyota productsâ that will add around another $2500. Isabell said, âokâ so I signed their âcommitment formâ to purchase the Sienna.
We waited for almost three months and finally got confirmation that sheâd found one for us. So my wife and I drove up to Madera to put a $500 deposit on it.
A week goes by and I got a call from Angelica that our van was being built and we needed to go back to Madera to sign paperwork and get pre-approve.
We drove back to Madera after waiting for almost three months by now. We got there and Angelica wasnât there so Isabell helped us. She asked how much weâll be putting down and I told her Iâll put down $30k and finance the rest through EECU. She brought out their form that we signed a few months back with the dealer add ons still on it and I told Isabell that I donât want it and I will not pay for it like Iâve mentioned to her a few months back.
She said sheâll talk to her manager and see what he can do. She came back and said we have to pay for it. I told her I wasnât going to pay for it so she went back to her manager. At this point, her manager, Tyler Duffin comes to us and basically tells us that either we pay for their optional dealer add ons or we will donât get the Sienna in a rude and demeanor way. Saying he can make more money by selling it to someone else.
I told Tyler that weâre not interested anymore and would like our deposit back so he left us with Isabell. Isabell said sheâll get with her finance director and heâll get in contact with us to get our deposit back.
I waited a 5 days and no calls from anyone from Madera Toyota. In the mean time, Iâve tried calling Angelica multiple times and she will not answer my calls or return my calls.
I will never step foot in Madera Toyota ever again and I will make sure my friends and families are aware of the way we weee treated. Madera Toyota has lost a long time and loyal customer.
On a side note, Iâve heard that this place has gone downhill with the new management. A lot of the employees had left due to...
