As a person with dark Asian hair who recently went platinum, I had a near disastrous root touch-up at a different salon in Madison. This led me on my search for the best color/blonde specialist, which is how I came across Drew and Bloom Hair Studio. From our very first appointment, it became very apparent how knowledgeable and caring Drew is. He goes out of his way to make sure that every formulation he uses is high-quality and the best product available. He is also extremely honest, which I highly appreciate. He let me know immediately that due to the prior condition of my hair, I was not able to achieve my desired outcome. However, he worked with me to come up with a plan to help improve the health of my hair as well maintain the platinum blonde I already had in the least damaging way possible. He is also the best out there for us with Asian hair that can be difficult to color and work with.

Drew is also an incredible innovator and is constantly studying, learning, and implementing new techniques and new products to improve his art. He takes the time to study and learn your hair so that each formulation is unique and personalized for your hair needs.

Before reading this reveiw i want everyone to know that i am not trying to be mean or anything i just want people to know of my experience. It did get reaolved well in the end.

I went in to get a balayage with black and a natural shade of gold for a weading. Granted I did have some box dye in my hair but it was mostly faded out. When we finished I expressed that the color was very brown and I was not happy with it. On top of that my natural hair color was showing through the black aswell. Patt bleached my hair 3 times and rinsed it out to soon each time resulting in my hair being overly damaged. After finally rinsing out bleach I was happy with the gold color and then she put toner in it and that is what ruined the color. Mind you that part was an extra hour step and her hourly rate is 75 dollars. When I expressed my concern she told me that we can fix it but it will be another 4 hour service and another 300 dollars on top of the 300 I already spent to get it to this point. I asked for a refund after letting it dry realizing i was very unhappy and they denied it. I went in to let them actually look at the finished product of my hair and the owner then agreed to a refund and a free treatment to try and revive my hair.

Edit: in response to the reply. The only reason I denied the fix that they offered was because my hair is so damaged from the multiple rounds of bleach so I don't want any more product in my hair or it would start...

I came to Bloom for help after a really bad extensions experience. From the second I contacted them they were honest, kind, supportive & affirming. I bought new hair from them. They decided the best course of action given how short my hair is (about 3”) was to do integrated mesh & extensions to ensure my scalp & hair didn’t get damaged. They went out of their way to make this a positive experience for me. The salon is in a nice area with a convenient parking lot next to the building.

Both Drew & Patt worked on my hair and it turned out absolutely lovely. It’s light on my scalp (but looks full) & almost feels like just my natural hair. The quality is wonderful. It looks SO natural. They went through extensions care with me & made sure to answer any questions I had. They’re both lovely people & I am so grateful to have met them. My hair looks the best it has ever looked. The cost was very very reasonable given the quality of work they do.
