Patricia´s Market — Restaurant in Maple Bluff

Welcome to the North side! I had stopped in last week already hungry for tacos. This weekend (11/13) is the first weekend serving food at this location.

I came in and asked for whatever it was they recommended and ended up ordering an extra beef and lengua taco to add on to my to-go carnitas taco dinner that included rice and beans. I was not disappointed. Well layered and seasoned tacos with fresh onions and cilantro went down easily. The lengua was mild in flavor and warm but not hot to the touch. An acquired taste and texture for sure, but I feel like it was further off the back burner than the beef and carnitas tacos I inhaled. The beans and rice made for a nice compliment to the meal.

While waiting for my order to finish, I perused the market and ended up picking up and getting back into line to pay for fresh guacamole and chips. At this moment, I’m still stuffing my face with as much of that guac as possible. Great balance of acidity and spice.

I grabbed my food and stood in line for 5 minutes or so while others were ordering in front of me. Here are my takeaways on their first weekend serving food:

1.) be patient - there’s currently only one area where purchases in the market and food orders can be placed.

2.) try everything - I’ll be eating my way through this menu (that’s priced reasonably for the market).

3.) if you are making market purchases, do it at the same time as your food order.

I’m happy to see this open on the North side of Madison and with hours (currently 8am-9pm) you can guarantee a visit...

Every time I go it is awesome and the staff is always nice except for the lady with the birthmark on her eyebrow she got my order wrong when I got my food I noticed a plate was missing so I asked the guy what was on the order he told just one plate I said ohh I must of ordered wrong then here come the lady with the birthmark and says no you ordered this and this with an attitude I let it go and order another plate ate then looked around for more things I ask her if she can give me a bag for the bakery stuff she totally ignored me so I reached over and grabbed it myself I continued to the check out and payed go home and noticed my adobo isn’t in the bag 🤦🏽‍♀️ I know mistakes happen and we are all human but her attitude and the way she handled situation seems like she would be better at another job not with customers but this place is awesome and the selection...

Me, my mom and daughter who all shared the carnitas(roasted pork) nachos ended up with food poisoning by midnight. The nacho chips were super greasy, soggy and chewy not crisp. The toppings of nacho cheese sauce, onions and meat only wasn't very attractive. I would have much rather preferred a white Mexican cheese sauce and offer a salsa on top as well.. it was just bland. We also got a steak burrito meal The steak tasted like soy sauce,, the beans were hard, the rice was dry and flavorless. The only good thing BESIDES the grocery store was the chicken tacos my daughter got. I'll be avoiding that place from now on, I'm sure it's a fluke but my appetite is kind of gone for that place.
