Bohemian Oasis Healing Center — Attraction in Madison

I want to start by saying that I was looking for a particular type of massage and found Bohemian Oasis Healing Center offers hot stone massages. With 20% off for new clients, I thought why not. I scheduled my appointment and it was late in the evening when I did this but I was sent forms to my email address and via text so that was nice. A little confusing at first because I didn’t want to download another app, but it worked out well in the end. The massage therapist reached out to me via text to actually learn what it was that I was actually wanting for my massage appointment. When I arrive a couple days later, I was greeted at the door with a very polite person and they explained how everything was going to flow. The atmosphere was pleasant, it was quiet and had a relaxing vibe. Coral, the massage therapist went over again my needs and explained how the experience was going to go. I felt really comfortable. I did date myself by bringing up an old 1987 commercial about Calgon taking me away, but Coral is too young to know that reference. Coral was very attentive to my requests and didn’t talk except to ask me if the pressure was good enough. Which it was. The massage was everything I needed for my self care journey. I had the pleasure of getting a massage last Friday with Abbie. I am not one to often treat myself to things like this, so it felt already special and decadent- even before I arrived. Abbie did a few things that I found really different- and really wonderful! During our brief chat before the massage, she encouraged me to advocate for myself during it- to let her know immediately if the pressure wasn't right- and to also feel empowered/comfortable enough to communicate when things felt really good. Abbie was super easy to talk to- and I shared with her a few details about my profession, then told her I might want to have the time w/her to feel completely without responsibility/expectations. I wanted to do or not do whatever I wanted! :) We chuckled about it- but she understood what I was saying and gave me full permission to relax- do as much or as little of anything/nothing at all. It was perfect. The massage itself was super relaxing and I felt beyond comfortable throughout it. We talked a bit- she let me zen out a lot. It was exactly what I needed. I got a massage with Coral. The massage itself was ok. She used the hot stones within my session. I wasn't a fan of this modality because using the stones caused her to leave the massage to monkey around with stones. I would have preferred a constant contact. The stones caused several disconnections through the whole massage. I wasn't asked as to the massage I was looking to receive. Now we called prior and arranged a couples massage at 65.00$ each with a first time client discount. When we got there, we quickly found out that we were in separate rooms. Now a couples massage was made known to the receptionist. I went in a room, my husband went to another room. We mentioned this. My husband's therapist apologized that it wasn't made clear that we would not be receiving a couples massage. Once our hour was up we went to pay. It's was 150.00 WITH the discount. We asked about the discrepancy. As it turned out, since I got the therapist who does stones, that increased the priced. I nor my husband were asked if we wanted that. Sadly, we will not...
