A horrible place. They updated the code of conduct several times during my attendance there to prohibit testing out of classes and going to the bathroom without asking. I had a negative experience with a one-year Dean, the teacher Jo Cann, a guidance counselor dope, the crabby financial aid officer, and an obese classmate. Considering the loans you get and how difficult it is to graduate, you're better off doing enrichment courses at a real college until you can get into a real university. This university is like the 90's movie Office Space.
Office Space: The University is a really dull place. All the slogans and the sap get really old really fast. I would definitely ask to sit in a class before signing anything or walking away. If Jo Cann still works here, steer clear of this place - he is a really messed up teacher. The class size is 8 people typically (in the computer program). The jobs they steer you towards AT FIRST is answering phones. There is a culture of tattling and checking up, following the chain of command, and nipping ideas in the bud. The nursing program seems more promising, that being said, they would still have to take orientation classes online with people from the IT program and people in Louisiana. Everything I ever encountered except for an Art History class just made me go 'huh?' since I don't see the bearing that learning Herzing slogans online has to do with real learning. Monumental waste of time and money, even though I skipped a class by...
Read moreSo several years ago i graduated from High School in 2009. I had a dream of being a semi-successful video game developer who could fill practically any niche in any design company and get a job of SOME sort right out of school. I signed up for the Bachelors degree, which they told me would only take 3 years. So, imagine my surprise when i was told that the course requirements "had changed" 3 years in a row, pushing back my graduation date by a year each time. that's right, they got me to stay on for 3 EXTRA YEARS. and at the beginning of year SEVEN, they told me again that it would take another year to graduate. and that my work schedule would have to be changed AGAIN to fit my classes around my work. i said i couldn't change my work schedule again, they told me i had no other choice besides pushing my graduation back by TWO years now... so i said "screw you guys, i'm out!" and have to explain why i didn't get a degree to any potential employers on top of my massive debt cloud that hangs over my head like a nuclear bomb. the skills i learned in the course seem to be very legit, and i liked all my teachers (which is how they managed to sucker me for three extra years), but for your own sake DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU ACTUALLY NEED TO GET A JOB IN...
Read moreAfter watching your ad on tv this morning it came to my attention of your discrimination. I am a mom of two young boys. If one of my boys stated, “an education is important, especially for men” it would be unacceptable to air, and unacceptable for him to segregate like that. If equality is part of your school, you should not be airing a woman saying her education is especially important because she is a woman. This is 2017, it has been established that women have equal rights. Stop separating people due to their gender. Equal rights have been established and there are laws in place if ANY company fails to be equal. You are a college, you shouldn't let someone imply they are more important because of their gender. I realize nothing is actually equal. Nothing is actually free. Some people get things handed to them and others don't. Nothing has been handed to me or my children. Nor do we want it handed to us. A true american works for their money and understands the situation they are in and doesn't whine. if they want change they work harder, plan and pray. Stop segregating. Women are just as equal as men. MEN are just as equal as women. Goes both ways when you talk about equality right? if not, then your not...
