Mega Media Xchange Madison — Attraction in Madison

Today at 5:38 pm Mega Media Xchange on east side I usually don’t write reviews about business but today I felt very disrespected by this employee named Dustin he is tall and blonde hair guy and sometimes paints his nails working the counter and he was very rude to me and disrespectful I have spent at least few thousand dollars inside there business over the course from 2022-2025 and today will be my last day shopping there a giving my money to them I asked the guy behind the counter could he look to see if they had Indiana Jones on the shelves and he said to check the action section and I told him could you write down the list of a few other movies I wanted which they always did in the past for years and he asked me are my eyes broken and that he wasn’t going to do my shopping for me and that I was the only customer who asked for them to see if they had the movie on the shelves which I feel is a simple request especially with all the money I put in there pockets and I was very respectful wasn’t demanding and mad acting but he was acting hostile and asshole towards me and then when I told him my eyes wasn’t broken which obviously they weren’t because I literally had to drive there find the business walk in and buy things in there and he said it was weird that I was the only customer to ask them to find a movie usually all the games I get my self because it’s a straight shot to right with all the games but movies are all over the place and plus they literally look up in the computer to see if they have it the first place and he said he didn’t have time to go back there and look and I told him I spend a lot of money in here and he said so do other customers and walked off after I paid for the two games I bought which were college hoops 2k8 which was 50 dollars and dragon ball Xenoverse 1 both for Xbox 360 I live near Janesville wi and anytime I am in Madison I always looked forward coming here because they always have old games and movies that I enjoy and the guy act like I come there every day asking for somone to go back there when I might go to Mega Media Xchange every few months or so then I can understand him being rude and disrespectful and worse part his coworker didn’t even bother to tell him to relax or claim down he was wearing glasses and black hair I just feel very unappreciated and unwanted as customer they wouldn’t even have a job if wasn’t for customer spending money Mega Media Xchange would be out of business if he would have told me hey man I am sorry we are both to busy today to do it i would have been fine and valid reason for why either one of...

Edit 2 (1-14-25) This is a new store, new name, new staff, new owners. So, basically disregard my review for this location. Will probably just end up deleting it sometime soon. Since what I had written below was from like 3+ years ago. —————————————————————————— Edit: I’m pretty sure someone that worked there read my review because now on their return policy it now mentions defective items being the only thing that can be returned. Realizing that if someone were to sue or something for their money back (if they spent a lot) the person would win lmao.

They need to clarify the return policy on the receipts... and around the store. Bought a game and when I read the return policies I thought okay so if I don’t like it then I can return it, swap it out with a different game with the same value and or get a store credit. Nope. Not how it works apparently. The game needs to be defective in order to return. But yet on the receipt and on some of the signs in the store it literally says “All returns will be swapped for the same item (or an item if equal value). Returns will be issued in store credit only!!! 30 days for game consoles, 7 days for for all else!!” Saying this doesn’t mean that the item has to be DEFECTIVE. Wasted my time coming back. Wasted like $20 on a used game that wasn’t really good... not saying I won’t come back but it’ll be a long time before I do just because some of their signs are misleading... plus how about you guys explain the return policies while checking people out. As someone who only visits Madison on occasion, this place was worth the visit. They had a lot of stuff and found almost all that I would have wanted. Got myself games and a console for great price as well as some CD's I had been looking for. The staff was nice and willing to help which really made the experience better. Everything worked but one of the CD's had the wrong one in it and they could do better at making sure the games and consoles are clean on the outside, not just the inside of cartages. Personally don't like having other peoples "residue," in lack of a better term, on stuff that I buy. I get that it is used so it can be expected, but to me it is new, so I feel it would make the experience way better on a customer standpoint. Take it from someone who has worked in retail for over a year and a half, while it might be a hassle to you, getting the gratification that a customer got what they needed and was satisfied, that is a reward in itself. All-in-all I recommend stopping buy if you are in the area, whether just looking for a movie, CD, or that game...
