Office Depot — Local services in Madison

Terrible service by Jason and Cam the managers. I purchased a chair for curbside pickup online so I could get the color I wanted and ordering online would not let me opt for assembly. I called yesterday after the order showed as ready and asked if I could add assembly and said I could pay when I came in. I don't know who I spoke with but he was super agreeable and said that would be possible. Today upon pickup I paid the $15 for assembly and then found out that they did not assemble the chair because I hadn't paid for it, when that hadn't been an option. Despite having my number I did not get any sort of communication regarding this. We drove 45 minutes to pick it up. Jodi, the clerk tried to be accommodating and thought it could be assembled quickly and I would have been willing to stop back in the hour or so. Jason, the manager who would assemble said they were too short staffed and essentially just played the blame game. Horrible experience, no help getting it out to the car. I struggled getting it out and another customer offered to help while the employees watched, even cutting up my hand in the process. If they didn't have the market on a place to see office chairs in person I would have returned it and still considered it. I can't wait until they go out of business, Amazon has better customer service, prices and options than they do. Luckily corporate seems to think the same, seeing how they prefer for you to order online. Is less than 1 star possible? Left in tears, furious at...

Office Depot is my one stop shop for all home office supplies and computer printer paper/Office Depot brand, for over 10 years. Markers, pens, glues, tapes, binders, binder clips, paper clips, thermal laminator/pouches, name badge labels, writing pads & stationary, sheet protectors, & much more. They have everything I've ever needed in office supplies, and staff on the sales floor, and managers, all are top notch. Quality sales team members always: friendly, accessible, ready to help, knowledgeable & find exactly what you need at good prices & quality office supplies. How great is that! Very disgusted to have spent close to half an hour on the phone for absolutely no reason with Office Depot. I saw an item on sale online. Saw that the shipping would be four times the cost of the item. Called the east Washington store to see about ordering it for pick up in store. The person on the phone told me they were not in stock in the store, but I could call one 800 go depot and place the order that way for in-store delivery.

I called that number, and after a long wait, got a representative who demanded all of my information before looking up the item that I wanted. Of course, not available for store delivery with that number either! I was very frustrated by this point and asked for all of the information that I had submitted to be Deleted. The representative informed me that I had to call yet Another number to get my information deleted. So after another long, wait a representative removed my information. What an absolute waste of time....
