Mall & Starview Gardens, LLC — Attraction in Mahwah

I've lived at The Mall for 7 years and have enjoyed my time here very much.

Barbara and her crew are no-nonsense and easy to work with. They're friendly and professional. All the repairs I've asked for have been done quickly -- usually within 8 hours, and only once in more than 24 hours when an outside vendor needed to come in. And in that case, (A/C unit broken) the staff brought me a portable window unit to use! So again, awesome.

There has been significant work done in the grounds over the past 2 years. We've gotten new doors, new landings, freshened paint. The landscaping is always done very well with great attention to detail. The hardwood floors are a big selling point. They are gorgeous -- and part of the reason I moved here.

It's not a luxury apartment, so you won't find w/d, microwave, or dishwasher in unit. And the buildings are older, so the management company will need to address some issues (pipe/plumbing) sometime in the future. But the staff keeps the apartments up exceptionally well.

The price point for the area is excellent. If I were not moving to Arizona, I'm sure I'd renew my lease for years to come.

I am starting my 10th year residence here at the Starview Mall apartments. I just moved from the second floor studio to the first floor studio apartment. I am very happy with the apartment and the amenities. When I moved in, the apartment was freshly painted and I was very impressed by their commitment to going the extra mile to upgrade the kitchen and the bathroom areas. I especially like the extra storage space the apartment provides. The area is very quiet and the neighbors are very friendly. Very professional and responsive when it comes to any maintenance. They had to rework my pipes behind the sink and they got it fixed within a day.

They allow month-to-month for $100 more, and were willing to work with me until I was able to move out. They also refunded my full security deposit with no issues.

On the other side, since they are a big company that owns a lot of properties, they will increase your rent as market conditions change, and they do not give room to negotiate. But the overall services they...
