This is the nicest place I have ever been to. Owais Foods is an excellent family-owned business. They have high-quality products and food. I really had a pleasant stay and experience at this place. Their selections are huge and wide. They have chicken, beef, and other meats. All of it is fresh and quality. You can also buy some of their cold cuts and frozen goods. Such a clean, organized, and decent store. Their staff is very nice, decent, friendly, and very helpful. They are always willing to help and assist the customers around the place. They are also knowledgeable and can answer questions from customers. Great customer service. Owais Foods also offers halal foods and some goods from Pakistan. They are the only store that has halal meat and food. Really love this store! Their location is very easy to find and very convenient. It was a pleasure for me to experience how great this place is and its staff. They all know how to treat the customers so well. Definitely a gem in this area of Des Plaines. Great prices and quality products. The only problem for me is the smell in some parts of the place, it probably came from the meats. But still, the place is worth visiting. I would really love to recommend this place to all of my friends and family so that they can also experience the great service. Owais Foods is phenomenal! Thank you for the pleasant experience! This place is totally fraud. Do not go there if you have any other choice. Guys I doubt that they even sell halal stuff. Because people who behave like this will never regard to halal or haram, just like money makers. What this people does is totally haram. The lady at the register called cops on me when I asked questions about charging me extra for same meat cutting in slices, (by the way I tip the Mexican butcher couple of dollars) just because I want in a slice cut. Trust me, she said to me to leave the store now or she will call the cops on me, and I said please do, and she did!!!! Who freeking people call cop on their regular customers? Lol, that stupid woman don’t know how to talk to a customer, I’m wondering that how the hell this people are in business. Good luck to them and I’m one of the customer choose some other location, because there are several options. Never experience what I did with them, it was not something what you want to go through. Eventually I have to leave the store without any refund of what I’ve been charged and the meat which I ordered. She will eat that meat out of my pocket. Disgusting people. Like all Desi grocery stores, Owais foods is well stocked with aisles overflowing with items. There are multiple selections of rice and other staples and many other good items. There is a meat section where you can get zabiha halal meat, though it was barely stocked today. We went there on our way back from further north and we wanted to buy some rabri, a delicious milk solids based sweet. There's a whole section of delicious sweets from Pakistan. Only issue was that we were not allowed to use the restroom even when we bought a lot of sweets and stuff. None of the neighboring stores or restaurant allowed our 16 years old and I to take a leak including the zabiha halal taqueria next door, which incidentally is owned by a friend. Name dropping did not help and we had to rush to the Mobil nearby to relieve ourselves. The rabri was delicious when we tasted it after...
