I will share my experience so take in mind yours might differ. As a full-time employee and father my time was very limited. Everglade's University was perfect for my schedule and most all great communication with any Veteran related benefits. I never had to worry about my GI Bill or my housing allowance showing up on time. I could rely on the amazing faculty to make sure I was on the right path to reach my degree while still upholding my lifestyle as a father and employee. I feel that I got the most out of my program due to working in construction while taking my Construction Management courses. My professors have been knowledgeable and passionate about their field of work and always available to answer questions to real world obstacles. The 28-day accelerated courses offer a condensed yet intensive learning experience, forcing me to stay focused and engaged. Class sizes are relatively small, allowing for more personal interaction. The only challenge I found is the class schedules with the professors were sometimes overlapping. This forced some professors to teach two classes at once causing more time away from each study. With the classes already so fast paced trying to cram all the knowledge in even half the given time definitely took away from the course substance. Only reason I'm giving a 4 out of 5. Some courses feel fast-paced, and deeper dives into certain topics might be beneficial. This is why I recommend finding a job through the day related to your field of study so your fast-paced courses sink in while in the class room. Time management is crucial and if the student accepts it as another skill to learn rather than an excuse to slack in class I believe you can get the most out of your education with this university. I loved the experience so much I'm going to try and continue with my Masters Degree at...
Read moreWonderful campus! It has been a top notch experience with the staff, faculty and courses I've taken. I feel as though no matter which department I have dealt with, they treated me with genuine care and make me feel like anything I need is a priority and is handled right away. Not only is it handled but, a follow up to ensure all my needs were met was also done. I am enrolled in the Alternative Medicine program and I really enjoy the individualized instruction received in answering questions and ensuring every step of the way I understand and grasp the information to ensure my success in learning. With the Alternative Medicine being the only one offered in the area, I feel so fortunate to have come across it. It was a breeze having my transcripts transferred over and getting enrolled quickly so I could start my education journey right away. I'm an Air Force veteran and this is truly a veteran friendly campus - equipped with its own dedicated veteran lounge. The library is always open and librarian available for all my research needs when it comes to having to write papers etc. I can highly recommend attending EU for a 5 star...
Read moreSo far so good.
I signed up at a weird transitional period where my initial schedule was for Wednesday classes. But at the last minute I was informed that they were transitioning the program to Saturday which was a bit of a bummer. However, when I brought up my concerns with my schedule which is mostly flexible but still needed the occasional Saturday off they ensured me that as long as I spoke with them ahead of time that we could work around it and make sure I was taken care of.
I was appreciative of that because I once had a job that was completely unwilling to accommodate that request and it was frustrating. It was nice to see a Dean and a staff that was willing to be flexible with us and not adhere to a rigid timeline.
It's that flexibility that I was looking for in a school and so far I've been pretty happy with the curriculum. I'm only on my second class right now, but I can't imagine having anything bad to say...
