RM 419- We found tiny bugs all over the kitchen counter and sink ( not sure what they were exactlyā¦) it was late in the evening and my son had just had surgery. So we agreed to have the kitchen sprayed and reassess in the morning. Because we didnāt see more bugs that morning we just decided to stay in the roomā¦. That afternoon I went in to the bedroom and the carpet around the AC was so soaked the spot extended to the bed⦠so I couldnāt walk around the bed without stepping in the leak⦠so I went downstairs to ask if we could be moved to a different room. The front desk clerk was very nice and gave us a different room straight away. So we moved. I checked the kitchen in that room to make sure there were no bugs on the counter. And we fully moved our things to that room (rm 411) Neither of the rooms were very clean. I had to run all the plates and utensils in the dishwasher because glasses and silverware in the cabinet were not clean. Honesty, I am guessing housekeeping are incredibly overworked as the staff is minuscule. They were accommodating when I requested TP and clean towels ( the housekeeper was incredibly nice and even gave us warm towels, which was super nice! ) Then⦠on the second day in the new room ( we stayed 9 nights as my son was recuperating from surgery ) We found tiny bugs again⦠in the bathroom! ( coming from crack in caulking outside the tub. They appeared to be the same sort as the other room⦠We did not ask to move rooms again because my son was in pain and I didnāt want to have to move him again. TBH Im pretty sure the hotel is infested⦠since the bugs were coming from the wall and were in two rooms which were not adjacent. I just wound up killing the bugs for the rest of our 9 day stay The mgr sits in her office everyday and even when I passed her in the hall⦠she never once greeted me or even acknowledged me with a smile! I never once received a call from her, to check in with me about the room issue ⦠even though the manager was there every⦠single⦠dayā¦She never once contacted me or offered to make things right. The only person to acknowledge me was the Front Desk clerk, who seemed to be more of a manager than the actual manager!! In addition to this, the hotel charges $10 a DAY to park in a lot that they share with the Applebees next door! There is no reason to charge everyone who stays here for parking! There is no security or covered private parking⦠itās just a shared parking lot ( so basically if I were an Applebees customer it would be free⦠ridiculous ) Itās just a way for them to charge more for the room! I looked this up when I got home⦠they used to charge $8 ⦠Iām curious to know why they needed to increase the feeā¦since there is no way their expense for a shared parking lot ever changes! Im gonna guess this is a franchised property⦠because there is NO WAY Hilton Corporate would allow this place to function as is. Though I am curious to know what the franchise QA would have to say if they were the ones who had been put in either of the rooms we had during our stay. It seemed every couple of days there was something out of order⦠elevators, waffle irons etc.It was a stressful time for me and I just wanted to be able to focus on my sonās recovery in a clean comfortable place. We had to fly in to Orlando and I chose a Hilton property bc I assumed the property would be up to Hilton standard. Clearly that is not the case with this property. The issues with this property seem to fall squarely on the owner and General Manager. I absolutely intend to contact corporate⦠because a hotel with leaky ACs and bugs in multiple rooms⦠is something they need to look into. I donāt blame the employeesā¦this place is clearly in need of a better GMā¦and the owner of the property is where the buck stops, and needs a wake up call from Hilton QA! This review will be posted on every single website I can find⦠from Google reviews to tripadvisor and everything in between. In the meantime⦠Iād warn anyone who plans to stay here⦠to find a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHotel staff really ruined our vacation!! You can find better places for sure!! My experience was this: PARKING LOT IS NOT FREE!! Hotel charge $8 every night for each car if you use the parking lot. ( I can understand if I just stay for one night, but I was there for 10 nights!!! No consideration at all! I talked with the front desk about it. I explained to her that I didn't see those details at the time to booked the reservation through Expedia. She just said, "that happened when you use a third party to book with us. After 10 hours driving... that was the greeting! The shelf in the closet at midnight fell down. Next day, we called the front desk and they sent maintenance to fix it. He spent two hours "fixing it". He left all the floor very dirty. We called front desk again and they brought us a vacuum, so my wife cleaned the floor. Really guys??? After two hours using it, the shelf and our clothes were on the floor again. We were late for our restaurant, so we waited until next day. Maintenance came again, " fixed it" again, and a couple hours later, our clothes were on the ground for a second time. The solution was, move us to another room after two days dealing with this. MISSING STUFF. After two days we moved to the another room, I figured out that one of my shoes and a flip-flops were missing. I talked with front desk about that and they told me that cleaning crew didn't find anything in my previous room, so I lost it. Well, last day, my son talked with another lady at the front desk. She called the cleaning supervisor and she gave him my shoes and flip-flop. What was our surprise when inside my shoes was a note with the room number were it was found. So, why the hotel stuff didn't call me to let me know that my items were found? I spent another 6 days at the property. Even if I check out before cleaning crew found my items, the hotel has all my personal information. It is supposed to call me and notify me!! Anyway, everything is not bad news. Hotel is in good shape, it is clean, but my family and I decided to find another place to stay next time we visit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe rom was well appointed, very similar to a 1 bedroom apartment with a separation between the bedroom and living room/kitchenette. Also, it was clean. The daily breakfast was more than I expected, with multipke hot food options. I apologize for not getting her name, but one breakfast attendant (seemingly Hispanic/Latina based on her accent) was stellar! She ensured that the breakfast options were replenished and she walked the dining room, greeting guest and collecting trash if we were done eating. The three star rating is because 1) there was no daily evening reception as advertised on the website, 2) they were trying to charge me a daily parking fee when the website says in two places that parking is "free"/"complimentary". Though the guest services person acknowledged that and said it needed to be updated, she said she'd waived the parking fee for my stay "this time" (as though she was doing me a favor). However, when I requested my receipt at check-out, another guest services person reviewed my invoice and without me saying anything, she said that the parking fee had been removed, but added back in. She automatically adjusted it, and I told her about the website indicating in two places that there was no charge for parking. She also acknowledged that and said the location is under new ownership and they are supposed to update the website because they are charging for parking. Lastly, 3) the power randomly went off one night, followed by the fire alarm erroneously went off 2-3 times, which caused disruption to our sleep- people around us at breakfast were saying the same. Aside from the nonsense with the parking fees, I'd consider staying at this location or another Homewood Suites by Hilton location...
