I love to visit libraries and collect library cards to use for the ebooks. This library is super confusing and hostile and that’s saying a lot because I live near the Berkeley Public library and it is much more insane and unsafe there than in Malibu with 30 million dollar houses.
I got my card and the librarian just seemed a bit off. I asked to use the bathroom which was not locked. I entered thinking it was a non gendered single use restroom but to my surprise it was apparently the women’s restroom I had entered. It was incredibly awkward. I feel that the bathroom signage is confusing and unclear(just a triangle on the door with a handicap sign) and that unlocking bathrooms kind of signals they are single occupancy non gendered which is very confusing if this is the first time you have ever been to this library. I guess there was a gendered sign to the left which I didn’t see as I was in a hurry to go finish the 7 hour drive home. There are a few different lots and locations for parking. It is first come first serve . The chargers at the library and whole foods ypu need a charge point account to use.
