If you’d like to create a lifetime memory in a gorgeous venue that has charm, history and a golden hour at Sunset: look no further than Adamson House Museum.
The grounds are an excellent backdrop for celebrations of fun that include photos to capture your treasured memories.
I recently attended a family wedding event at this location. We had a large grouping and it always felt spacious. It was mostly an outdoor event with typically, glorious California weather.
Friends and family from near and far gathered. Three multi generational clans came together for a celebration that will stand the test of time.
Adamson House Museum features settings of truly remarkable beauty, elegance and high drama! Everything you could dream of in providing a place to bring people together for a happy occasion you can find here for the event you’re planning.
After the wedding and just before dinner, during cocktails; we had small group tours of the interior of the space.
It’s a well kept and delightfully engaging Museum experience. We walked back into another world. Much of the design is unique to the house and the grounds are immaculate.
If you’re a fan of Spanish Revival architecture then it’s a must see. It had a mini Hearst Castle vibe with a Moorish edge. The Docents were very personable and knowledgeable.
From my experience I can recommend it highly. I’m so glad to have shared this space with my nearest and dearest and we will have fond memories that...
Read moreThe Adamson House is an historic first house of what is now Malibu, before the development of coastal Los Angeles County. The original owners, known as the Rindge’s, had the home built in 1928. They operated a tile making business nearby that helped adorn this house, as well as many other homes and businesses around the Los Angeles area, with beautiful ornate tile! The Adamson family lived here for several years, keeping the structure with its now famous tile intact! The house and grounds are now operated as a California State Historic Park Property. As such, accessible paid parking may be found at the beach lot, just to the left of the entrance, or Pacific Coast Highway beside it. Further parking options are across Malibu Creek at the shopping centers or the Malibu Lagoon State Beach paid parking lot. The house tour takes about an hour, during which we are walked back in time, just as the home was originally! We were asked to put our phones and cameras away while inside the house, tho ok for photo’s taken from the outside. I enjoyed seeing the tile features that are amazingly like new! There’s even a tile lined dog tub in an outside corner of the house! The ocean view from the Adamson House was awesome! I could see surfers riding the waves from much of the south side of the house. Restrooms are located in an outhouse inside the property, to the right of the...
Read moreA couple of weeks ago my sister contacted me about taking her in-laws to the Adamson House. They were in town for a very short visit from Michigan and this was the only day they could see the house. As the date grew closer, the weather got iffier. I called a few days ahead of time and left a message asking about a possible rain closure. The day before our planned trip I got a call back saying they would in fact be closed. Boo! So we came up with a plan b. The morning of our outing, I received another call saying that if we still wanted to come, they would love to have us. Yes!!! So we cancelled the other plans and got on the road. It was a 2.5 hour drive each way but so worth it. By the time we got there the weather had cleared. CA State Parks staff David Shepherd greeted us and Susana Fontenla led the tour. It was spectacular. They were both so gracious and knowledgeable. The house is a gem. There is nothing like it anywhere else. Absolutely worth the drive. Thank you, Adamson House! Thank you,...
