I love J2games and want to keep coming here, so I am leaving this review as constructive criticism and letting them know I am not entirely thrilled.
I went in today looking to make a bigger sized purchase (about 180 bucks in a couple of games) and as I do before the majority of my purchases I do my homework. Some of the prices of some of their games was higher than Price Charting and due to past visits with other branches I decided to make a break down list of what I wanted to pay and see if they could help me with the price / come to a deal. I went this route because in the past I have gone into this location along with the Brick and Clark locations and they have thrown me little deals, discounts, freebees etc. I walked into the store and told them exactly what I was there for and gave them my list of games I was interested in purchasing. I also mentioned I would add on more games if we could come to the deal on the list as there were some games on the website at that location I was completely paying a premium for. Without hesitation, I was told they don't do deals or negotiate any prices on games. My breakdown estimated instead of paying 180, I would pay 155 on all of the games listed and if they showed some care I would've had no issue meeting in the middle or something of that sort.
I would be completely fine with the policy if it was 100 percent true. I have gotten deals in the past from negotiating and just asking a few questions. The guys in Brick normally call the owner and make sure something like a negotiated deal is okay, but the guys today had no intention on closing the sale or really trying to help me out at all and that was disappointing. With the amount of systems I've brought in and the amount I've purchased this year, you'd think they would at least try to help or something, but there was just no care for my presence or my business and I will probably not go back to that location anymore until something...
Read moreI paid J2Games to replace the battery in my Pokémon Yellow cartridge. I trusted they would do the job properly, upon looking at the soldering job they did although I was sadly wrong.
The battery was not properly soldered and does not hold saves. Whoever repair my cartridge did not take their time.
I would very much recommend going elsewhere for your repair needs.

I paid for the battery to be replaced quite some time ago at your Wanamassa location, which now seems to be permanently closed, in my Pokémon Yellow cartridge.
I did not have anything to play it at the time, but recently got something that could, and when I went to play it, the game would not save.
I also could not see any reason why you would do anything about it if I brought it to the attention of your staff, as substantial time has passed since the purchase. That although does not mean the battery should not work.
It should work for years to come and that is especially the case given that it was my first time playing it since the battery was replaced by one of your staff members. That means it should save without issue and that was sadly not the case.
You should talk with your staff about taking their time while replacing batteries and repairing consoles, as any business owner or employee should take some pride...
Read moreAvid gamer with 3 kids who also play trading card games. Decided to try this store for the first time today and bought a pack of card sleeves for my son's Easter basket. I was debating between a few options and put all but one back. Paid for it and started to walk out the door. I looked down and realized I had put the wrong one back and asked if I could swap for the correct one. Same sleeves just a different picture with my son's favorite character on it. The guy told me no! He said all sales are final. I couldn't believe my ears. But he told me that is store policy. So I paid another $18 for a second set of sleeves so I could make my son happy with his favorite character on Easter. Maybe there was nothing the worker could do. I doubt it. But if that is actual store policy, it's ridiculous. Especially given the situation. I literally took 15 steps away from the register. I could maybe understand if I had opened it. Needless to say, I will never be a patron of this...
