ON OCTOBER 23, 2022 WE VISITED THIS GALLERY AND PURCHASED A VERY ATTRACTIVE NECKLACE WITH A LARGE GEMSTONE REPRESENTED TO US AS A "CORN FLOWER BLUE SAPPHIRE" PURCHASED IN CAPE TOWNE SOUTH AFRICA IN MAY OF 2014 (ATTACHED PHOTO OF STORE LABEL). WE RETAINED SARTOR-HAMMAN JEWELERS OF LINCOLN, NEBRASKA TO VERIFY THE IDENTITY OF THE GEMSTONE AND WERE TOLD THAT THE STONE WAS NOT SAPPHIRE BUT RATHER WAS A LABORATORY-GROWN SPINEL. BLUE SPINEL IS SOMETIMES SOLD AS SAPPHIRE ALTHOUGH THE TWO GEMS ARE EASILY DIFFERENTIATED BY GEMOLOGISTS. WE FEEL THAT EARTH AND FIRE IMPORTS SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO GEMSTONES. THUS, BUYER BEWARE OF THIS GALLERY. ONE STAR FOR THIS FIASCO
ON A POSITIVE NOTE, WE ALSO PURCHASED AN ORIGINAL PAINTING BY MICHELLE BILLINGS, WITH WHICH WE ARE VERY PLEASED. SEE PHOTO OF THIS PIECE FRAMED IN BARNWOOD WITH INLAID HIGHLIGHTS. 5 STARS FOR...
Read moreAwesome place I read about in Big Bend Galleries and Artists booklet. Just to the left of La Posada Espresso y Mas and to the right of Starlight Theatre. It's actually the only place I've purchased art on our trip out here to Ft Davis/Marfa/Terlingua. Jewelry, paintings, pottery etc. Even cute shirts w prints of local artists paintings. Thank you Enrique! He was manning the desk and has some of his photos and paintings...

The guy there was so friendly and helpful for places to check out around town that...
