Milky Way Treats — Restaurant in Manuel Benavides

Hands down one of our favorite stops in Terlingua! Milky Way Treats is a gem in the desert, and the woman running it is as sweet as the treats themselves. She made us feel so welcome—like we were stopping by a friend’s place for dessert.

We tried a few flavors and loved them all, but the tiramisu ice cream is bomb—so creamy and rich, with just the right coffee kick. And the blueberry cheesecake? Absolute favorite. Perfect balance of tangy and sweet, with real blueberry flavor and that cheesecake swirl… we’re still dreaming about it.

Big Bend is so blessed to have Valerie! We just had the most delicious breakfast this am, all made by her! The chocolate chip scone was to die for, my son said the sausage and jalapeño kolache was the best he's ever had. We also bought the carrot cake and bread pudding and can't wait to enjoy it later today! Prices are VERY REASONABLE! Please remember when you're coming to the desert, it's like going to an island, things aren't readily accessible, these business owners do their best to provide you with the BEST ingredients possible, you can't put a price on that! Best ice cream in town! Soft serve is homemade. I got the Hot Fudge Birthday Brownie because it was my birthday! So so tasty. Extensive menu to choose from and the woman who helped us was so friendly and passionate.

Note: if you are taking your ice cream sundae home with you instead of eating it on the spot, it will melt and likely leak all over your car 😅 in the brown paper bowl it was served in (pictured), the melted ice cream leaks through the corner folds.
