Read moreI had a bad experience at one of Crown Jewelry & Time's buying events. I brought in a box of old silver trays and tea service stuff, and I let them know I wasn't sure if it was just silver plate or actual sterling silver. One of their buyers (Charlie) looked at the stuff, and showed me how one of the pieces was just silver plate. When I learned that they pay a low rate ($1.25 or $1.50 a pound) for silver plate, I decided to keep the stuff, and was ready to take the box back. But then Charlie said he'd like to buy one particular platter because, he said, he liked the inscription on it. He offered $50, and then a $100, which really surprised me because he'd just minutes earlier led me to believe all the items were silver-plate and worth very little. I said no thanks, and when I got home I actually looked at the piece carefully. It was Sterling Silver...marked clear as day! I just hadn't looked at all the pieces so I hadn't realized it. Turns out the silver in it is worth about $400. So the buyer lied to me about the reason he wanted to buy it and withheld the fact that it was Sterling Silver, even when I'd gone in there to explicitly ask them "is this stuff silver-plate or Sterling?" Just wanted to post this so others going to their buying events...
Read moreAfter a very disappointing experience sending my Concord watch into the factory for a repair I was told my expensive 13 year old watch was not repairable because they could no longer get parts for it!! I called AAA and spoke with Ryan and he wanted to see the watch and gave me hope it could be fixed despite my experience with the manufacturer. Ryan was very knowledgeable and eager to help. He fixed my watch for a very small charge. My shipping to Concord was 4X more expensive then the repair done by Ryan. Plus he changed the battery! Ryan turned a very upsetting situation into a positive outcome. Very friendly and honest. I highly recommend this company and they fix a multitude if jewlery, clocks, antique and vintage items. This place is a gem and I'm very grateful for...
