Maplecrest Park — Attraction in Maplewood

As a person who grew up in Maplewood, I was a little embarrassed by the condition of this park. Maybe I've become spoiled by the much nicer parks in the Bloomfield-Montclair area. The playground was just okay. There was no public restroom, and I am still having nightmares about the port-a-potties, which apparently hadn't been emptied in weeks. Really gone down hill due to a lack of law and ordinance enforcement. The town appears to take no action and in doing so allows it to be over run with large groups of people destroying the facilities and - no kidding - adults urinating on trees and sidewalks (often weekend afternoons and evenings along the fence). Its a quiet park for the most part, but has great amenities. It has a private parking lot, a rest house(but it was closed). It has a Children's playground, skate park, and picnic benches and sitting benches all throughout the part.
