I have visited this marina many times over the past few years. My in-laws winter down here and this place is great to visit. This is the City Marina for Marathon. The office building has a desk where you can get all the info. There is WiFi, televisions and a big library for guests of the marina. There is a cool Tiki hut and mural o not the harbor side of the building. There are lockers and work space in the same building. A convenient ice machine is so handy to all boaters in the harbor. The community garden is a nice touch. There is laundry facilities and clean bathrooms for showering. The staff takes pride in keeping this place clean. A daily pump out is available in the harbor of you need it. The parking lot is ample and the is adjacent to the city park. The dinghy dock is where all the interesting folk of the harbor meet. If you want to meet some characters from the boating community this is the spot. This place is a community on water. The NET is held each morning to give all important info about the harbor happenings. This place is simply amazing. This is the boaters paradise! When you hear about people wanting to live on the water and sail as a daily lifestyle this is where you find...
Read moreAn excellent stopover to dodge weather, get some work done, enjoy the neighborhood etc.
Many other municipalities treat cruisers and liveaboards as if they are sub human, using all types of constructed eviction schemes, selective enforcement and enviro-mental impact scams/schemes to rid their waters of boats below a mil. Not here.
Place is clean, staff is very nice and kind.
Strange that the "dinghy dock only"price is the same as the price of a mooring ball (which comes with dinghy dock usage). Both cost 25 dollars, which is a great value IMO.
Also, important! We found this out the hard way... If you want to get on the mooring ball waitlist, you must prepay for a week of dinghy dock access which didn't work for us as we were only staying a few days. Nevertheless, we followed the advice of the girl at the desk and found plenty of sheltered anchorage up Sisters Creek to ride out...
Read moreCame into Marathon City Marina thinking we'd stay a few weeks or a month and ended up staying for 3 months. Restrooms and showers were clean and plentiful. Marina staff was very feiendly and helpful. Courtesy bikes were available for trips to nearby Home Depot, West Marine, Publix, Walgreens, Winn Dixie and many restaurants. This was all within about a mile radius of the marina. The boater community at the marina was the friendliest and most helpful of anywhere we've been. The marina is adjacent to the city park which offers workout classes, yoga, stretching, pickleball, tennis, basketball, softball, etc. If we ever spend another winter on our boat in Florida, it...
