After shopping at several other appliance stores, I bought my GE Profile range from Bill Smith Appliance because my salesperson, John Didrickson, was exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful. I bought the five month extended warranty that Bill Smith offers. Six months later I had to call for help when I removed the lower oven door and could not get it back on. The tech was dispatched within a day and quickly re-installed the door. After looking at the instructions showing how to remove and re-install the door, he agreed that it did not properly explain and did not charge me. I was happily surprised. The next week the oven and stove top would not stay on. A tech came out right away and determined the relay boards were not working and ordered two new boards. The new boards did not work, so it was decided to order a new touch screen. Now on the third visit to fix the range, the new part did not work properly either so a new range was ordered. The new range would not come on at all so another new range was delivered. When it would not turn on it was decided by all that perhaps the problem was in my outlet which had been installed during a kitchen remodel six months ago. I had an electrician out and he found and corrected the problem in the way the outlet had been installed. I wish my contractor was as professional, attentive and diligent as the Bill Smith team. The techs, the delivery people, Rhett (the sales manager at Marco Island location) and my salesperson, John, were all exceptional and reflect well on the company. I do not believe that any other company would have stuck with me through out this ordeal and deliver two new replacement ranges. I would not buy anywhere else. Unfortunately, the installation was done poorly with plumbing. Now I have after 2 years a garbage disposal installed without two screws which hold the flange. After the caulking has deteriorated, I have water and a leak under my new cabinet which is now black stained.
I was told by Bill Smith service we do not have a warranty so we SHOULD GET a new disposal rather than fix it. Wow! What a way to sell disposals and they told us to get a plumber if we wanted to get it fixed-they do not fix the problems.
So we called a licensed plumber who said it was not installed properly and there were screws missing which is why it eventually is leaking.
When I called Bill Smith Appliances they focused on the fact that it was 2 years old so how could they stand behind it without a warranty. I guess they do not stand behind the installation. The garage disposal works fine but it leaks because of the connection.
I have two homes with garbage disposals in New York. The disposals are going strong for at least 5 years now. Hmmm?? Good installation- no leaks.
Be sure a licensed plumber who has training does your installation or you will Have problems. I question if Bill Smith Appliances monitors the workmanship being done at this point. I do not believe this business wants this problem but they are not supporting me...
Read moreOur experience with this Bill Smith store has been terrible. The refrigerator we received looks like it is a scratch and dent model. Since we own a rental home, they said sorry - but all cosmetic issues need to be reported within 30 days - and we only come to the home once a year. The refrigerator is also really loud. When I talked to John, the sales manager at this location, he said that he sees a lot of issues with fans that need to be adjusted. We scheduled a service call, and the service tech checked a few things and then read from a “script” on his phone saying that the loud noise is normal. The service tech called into his dispatcher/boss who angrily asked him what he wanted (the phone wasn’t on speaker and we could clearly hear her screaming at her). He then asked me to sign the service ticket stating that everything was completed to my satisfaction. We then went to the store (which was filled with scratch and dent appliances)to ask John for help and he proceeded to very condescendingly tell me that new refrigerators are made to run loudly.
