Really disappointed to be writing this review after being a loyal customer of this restaurant for years on our annual trip to Marco Island.

To begin, we were seated 20+ minutes after our reservation. Why offer reservations if they mean nothing?

The ambiance is overwhelming - the live music is far too loud and honestly, painful to listen to.

When it came time to order, we requested to place for food and drinks all at once due to the significant wait we already had for our delayed “reservation”. We asked for lemon wedges for the table in addition to our beers; please note: this restaurant does not have a liquor license so options are limited. The server brought literally 3 slices of lemon for a table of 5 - how generous!

We ordered 3 chicken piccata dishes (one gluten free) and 1 chicken parmesan. The gluten free is a $6.50 up charge, which is the highest I’ve ever seen for an allergy accommodation. As I mentioned, we come here annually and it has always included 2 chicken breasts per dish. Apparently shrinkflarion has really gotten Davide as it came with one minuscule chicken breast each. The chicken parmesan was cold. At this point, we had been over an hour since we had ordered and were starving with a dog to get home to. As such, we just ate the cold food. We said nothing and asked for our bill, just wanting to get out of there.

The owner stopped by as we were waiting for the checks to return and asked how everything was. A member of our party said “slow and cold but besides that fine.” The owner suddenly became aggressive and defensive, asking why are we just now complaining? In response, we corrected him that we were not complaining, he asked. He stormed away and sarcastically told us to have a good night. We finished up the checks and departed for our vehicle in the parking lot. The owner followed us into the parking lot and told us to never return to the restaurant. For what? Telling you the hard truth about the poor experience at your restaurant? Feedback, unfortunately, is not always positive but as an owner, or just a human in general, you need to learn how to be receptive to it and respectful when receiving it. Perhaps the owners Napoleon complex is getting in the way. Dine elsewhere where you will be a respected patron with warm,...

The food was overpriced. The food took over an hour and it was very bland! The pasta was not homemade. The "special" , the Braciole was overcooked, fatty and cost over $40. Our bill was $187.00 This is not the worse part. I would not write a review, I would just not go back and accept this as we tried something new and it was not for us. What brings me to leaving this review is the way we were treated by the owner. When we asked if our food was going to be out soon as it had been an hour, the owner said he would check and see if it indeed had been an hour. He never came back, except to clear the plates and he did not say a word. He told the server that we requested our bill, which we had not. When we asked, if we were going to be offered dessert or coffee the manager walked by & said to the server not to worry about us, we were shocked and said we will just leave. The manager then came and put his hand on my mom's shoulder several times, the first time he placed his hand on her shoulder he just stared at her, until we were all very uncomfortable, then he told us we were lucky to have been able to eat there as we did not have a reservation, he also told us he is good to have given us a chance. There was more. I have never been spoken to like this in a restaurant. This is the first time I have ever left a negative, I am still in shock over...

Words cannot express how lovely this place is. The owners are the most wonderful people and the quality of food, service and atmosphere reflect how much love they pour into this business. My wife and I came here (coincidentally) on Valentine's Day without a reservation and were immediately welcomed with open arms and accommodated despite not having a reservation for an obviously booming business on what may have been one of their busiest evenings. The owners took amazing care of us and were so kind and compassionate!

My wife and I regularly frequent some of the finest Italian restaraunts the DC area has to offer and I was absolutely blown away by the quality of the food at Davide's. Every course of the meal, from the Bruschetta to our main dish, was bursting with flavor beyond anything I have experienced! Even the presentation was through the roof. The staff was equally as lovely as the ownership and the Italian gentleman who was obviously the manager/head staff member was absolutely fantastic and a wealth of knowledge with regards to our dietary preferences.

I cannot say enough about this establishment. There are truly no words to describe my astonishment with the quality of every facet of their business. We are grateful to have stumbled upon this diamond and we very much look forward to returning, time...

The food was amazing! And the service was awesome. I took 1 star away though because they could use a little more organization. Last night we ordered pizza and it was good. Not Chicago pizza. But good. I walk up to the hostess stand to pick it up. I give the guy there the name and he goes behind the bar to the computer. I'm standing there by the hostess stand and I see him now helping another customer. So I walk in to by the bar. He finishes helping the other customer and then asks me the name again. He looks in the computer again and asks me if it could be under any other name. I tell him no. It is 2 small pizzas. He goes to the stack of pizzas on top of the oven and finally finds the pizzas. Brings them out. Ok. Fine. No big deal. We go there again today for dinner. Absolutely delicious chicken piccata. OMG! But apparently they brought our food to the wrong table and we had to wait for the food. Not a huge deal. But I had my 1 1/2 year old daughter with. She fell asleep in her stroller. It was kinda rude for the food to be delivered to a different table and to not be told anything. I had to actually ask how much longer. We were waiting for over 15 minutes. With that said. The food is so so good. Worth the wait. The bread was so good. The pasta is made from scratch and you can tell. It is pure deliciousness.

We ordered take out which we have done several times in the past. Overall, the food is good, but there are a few things that could use improving. First, the wait. 75 minutes is too long for take out. Next, the portions. We ordered 2 orders of mussels and I couldn't believe there were only 11 mussels in the order for $14.99 each. Mussels are cheap and usually served in a large bowl with a great sauce to dip bread in. Our veal piccatta came with 3 very small pieces of veal and some linguine. 2 people were planning to share this meal and there definitely wasn't enough to do so. This was $26.95. We ordered spaghetti and meatballs for $21.95. My daughter requested some mozzarella melted on top. They added $2.95 bringing the total to almost $25.00! The meatballs were very good. The pasta Alla Norma was very bland so said mom that ordered it. The pizza was delicious and perfectly cooked. The place was jammed upon my arrival. I'm not saying this is a bad place. They just need to listen to what the people want and like. They used to be open for lunch which was great. They work very hard and are always very nice. I won't order take-out platters from here anymore. I'll just stick with the pizza.

We ate outside on the sidewalk and enjoyed great service and live music while we dined. Entres pictured left to right: the special that night was shrimp and crab over their homemade pasta shells, Puttanesca with substitution of Angel hair pasta, Pasta al Forno, Bolognese substituted with Gnocchi and Spaghetti con Polpetti. The bread they start you with is likely not made in house and not that great, but if you are hungry it helps tie you over. We enjoyed our food and the experience, but would not rate the food 5 star. It's good, but not 5 star.
