After staying at Sunset Cove for a week, I felt compelled to get on TripAdvisor and share what a gem this place is!||Sunset Cove was a perfect spot for our family. The condominium was one of my favorite places weâve ever stayed...anywhere. It was spacious, well planned and comfortable. The bedrooms donât share walls. There is 1BR with a King bed, walk in closet and en suite bathroom. The other King BR also has a walk in closet and bathroom just outside the door. And, across the entry hallway was a BR with 2 twin beds. The kitchen was great! It was well appointed and lovely. It also has a small stackable washer/dryer in unit which we used. The screened in porch balcony overlooks the water feature and the lovely, peaceful canal that runs through the neighborhood. It was so lovely to sit outside on the porch. ||The staff was so friendly, helpful and went above and beyond when we lost an item. I can't have down blankets or pillows. I called ahead and the whole place was down free. I also called ahead to let them know we'd be checking in very late (1 am) and they had our keys and paperwork laid out ready for us on the counter. They also provide beach/pool towels in the room and right at the counter. As you use them, you drop them at the desk in a laundry basket and re-stock. We brought our own towels unaware of this feature and used theirs for the convenience of it. Another amazing FREE feature is the shuttle that will drop you off at any one of the beaches on Marco Island so you donât have to walk, park or carry items. Tigertail beach is the closest beach to the hotel. If you get dropped off, it is a 20 minute walk from the drop off spot to the beach at Tigertail. We had a car and used it to travel to the beaches. This is not ideal as parking is fairly challenging near the beach entrances. There are very few public lots. If you are patient, youâll find a spot. Or, youâll park and walk quite a bit. So, the Sunset Cove shuttle makes it very easy. ||The pool was warm but still refreshing. Itâs long as well so plenty of space for people gathered in a circle talking, kids playing and others (me) just bobbing around in the water. The picture on their website is a bit deceiving of the hot tub. It is a bit small, but we didnât use it. I just thought Iâd mention it because the lens on the pictures on the website looks as if it would hold 10 people. They also have grills and provide grill tools at the front desk should you want to make your own food.||The hotel is right across the street from many wonderful shops and restaurants in the Esplanade such as Deep Lagoon, CJâs, Mangoes and our personal favorite the Italian Deli and Market (not in the Esplanade). Also, right next to the hotel is a very large park. OH, and the hotel is basically connected to a large parking lot with a Winn Dixie grocery store as well making supplies very easy to procure should you need any. There arenât any restaurants on site at the Sunset Cove. The Italian deli is 1 block away. ||I suppose some may say feel it is a bit âfarâ but we found anywhere we were going on Marco Island was furthest about 12 minutes. So, no inconvenience to us. It overlooks the canal for water views but no ocean views and across Collier street from the beaches. But, for bang for your buck and wonderful accommodations, this is the place. If I returned, I would stay again in a second. We knew people staying at a beachfront property who paid FOUR times what we paid per night. And, they had one hotel room. We had a whole apartment!||*Side noteâŠone of our guests had to go to the airport at 3:30 am and there were no uber drivers available on Marco Island at that time (even though pre-ordered) and Lyft was 25 minutes away. We had a car so we had to drive him. But, if youâve got an early morning flight sort out your ride situation if you donât have a car. This has nothing to do with Sunset Cove, just thought I'd mention it.||Sunset Cove was terrific! Canât say enough good things about the place, upkeep...
Read moreJust finished a week long visit on Marco Island while staying here.
The staff were great and very helpful. The facilities were clean and well kept. The location is also awesome, you are right next to a Winn Dixie and very close to plenty of businesses within walking distance. The street you're on is also off the main road so not alot of road noise or traffic. They also have a shuttle service that is quick and driven by Susan. She was great. It was clear she knew the roads and services around the island. Our group had family on the Island but if you don't, asking her for tips and recommendations for Marco would be a good idea.
The rooms were clean and well planned out. Didn't hear my floor room neighbors at all when inside the room. We did hear above neighbors moving furniture above though. We also heard the kids outside in the pool screaming and having fun(mid day, never super early or late), but that's to be expected for kids on vacation so it wasnt a big deal.
Something that annoyed us was that sometimes the bedroom lights would turn on by themselves around 8 AM. We do not know why, but we think it was due to work being performed on the hot tub or something else messing with the electricity. Either way, these lights were very bright and woke us up on days we wish we could have slept in. I know some folks would say just turn them off and go back to bed but once I'm up, I'm up so yeah.
Wish I could give...
Read moreI had booked this hotel quickly after Hurricane Ian due to my home having no power or water. Due to little to no cell service I was unable to get the hotel website to load and was unaware that this hotel did not allow pets as we had just stayed at the IHG Naples/Marco Island location and they were pet friendly. Two days prior to our stay I spoke with Mark (front desk manager) who I asked about their pet policy he proceeded to ask what breed of dog I had. He said our breed of dog was âyippieâ and asked âdo you know what kind of hotel this is?â in a snarky condescending tone and I told him no I didnât and the only reason I booked was because we needed a place to stay after the hurricane. He then said this would not fly and he would not allow this and stated the hurricane is over with at which time I said ok well can we work something out as far as a cancelation because I cannot leave my dog in a home with no power by themselves! He assured me no charge was pending and I would not be charged for the stay. 2 days later the hotel attempted to charge my credit card $439.00 dollars. I find this absolutely disgusting!!! People lost their lives, their homes, and the manager has the nerve to say the hurricane is done and over with? People are very much still effected and suffering! Zero compassion I will never be staying and an IHG/Holiday Inn...
