We visited Marco Island in May and researched to find out there are two public beaches. We went to both and this beach is far better than Tigertail beach. First, if you get here early (i.e. before 10) there is a decent sized parking lot with a short walk to the beach. Yes there is a walk but it's maybe 3 minutes. Any public beach on Marco Island has a walk. Second, the beach is much nicer than Tigertail. At Tigertail there are lots of shells and the water isn't as clear. If you don't get here in time to gey a spot at the South Beach parking and you are with friends, drop your friends and beach supplies off at the lot before you drive to the Turtle Lot. This lot is a good half mile from the entrance so it's not recommended if you have lots of gear. Loved this beach and definitely rank it higher than Tigertail. There are more people, but there's a reason, and even with all the people it's still less packed than most beaches on the East coast of Florida.

BEAUTIFUL beach!!! Water was not cold perfect temperature. We went on a Tuesday got there at 4:20pm. Parking is across the beach entrance you have to look for the parking lot and walk to the beach entrance not far at all. Plenty of parking. Parking fee is $10 for all day. To use the bathroom you do have to walk back to the Parking lot though but it's okay. 2hr drive was WORTH IT! no waves.. the water it's beautiful it looks fake! Lol how beautiful it is... was kinda of cloudy that day but still enjoyably. The sand white and soft. I suggest you wear water shoes for the shells.... family friendly. Take your own food and fluids! I HIGHLY recommend this beach 😊. Enjoy....

We were here last month and we have a great time. water was cold but the beach was fun with all the sea shells. parking was $10 for the day, no matter what time you got there. they just changed that according the post. the walk to the beach was nice bc it was paved and there is a wash station. Lots of snowbirds. there is a ramp and plastic padding in the sand at the end of the ramp, if you have a wheelchair but it doesn't go all the way to the water. it was a surprise to see for us. there is another beach just north of this one but there isn't any parking. We did see that there is a lagoon beach called Tirgertail beach we want to go to next time.

Beautiful beach, gorgeous sunset!! Loved this beach! Summertime isn't crazy busy, during two consecutive weekdays we were able to get $8 parking in the lot a little more than a block away. There was a drop off right after the pedestrian access that made it OK for my 83 old mother. The walk through the palms to the beaches on a boardwalk was pleasant, then once on the beach it was a short distance to set up our stuff. Beautiful sand beach with tons of shella, warm but salty water, and a really spectacular sunset, even on a cloudy day!! It was a great experience, we will be back!!

As the internet promised, best shelling on the west coast. Great beach on the top of the island. Lots of room, not very crowded. Friendly birds that follow fisherman for baitfish can be hand fed! Only issue is parking. The parking is almost non-existent. My opinion is this is done to keep out tourists. Park at the shops up the road, I recommend you purchase something before leaving your car in the garage, and leave it in plain view on your seat to avoid towing.

A small 10 minute walk from our condo. The entrance is a beautifully maintained brickpaved walkway all the way to the beach. You can grab a lifevest to use, if needed, free of charge, as you walk down the path. Plenty of opportunity for shelling, or just relaxing on the very large beach. The access is open from, I believe, 8am to dusk, but you may want to verify that when you visit. Have fun, stay safe and enjoy Marco Island!!
