Came here for a weekend getaway with my girlfriend. Before you stay here, please note: ||1. The front desk closes at 6 PM. We called to let them know that we’d be arriving at 6:15 and they just left a key under the mat in front of our room. ||2. The elevator is two years overdue for an inspection. ||3. There were several bugs, including a waterbug in the kitchen and several flies that got in under the door. We had to buy bug repellent to keep them out. ||4. They give you a list of chores to do when checking out. Leave linens in a pile in the bathroom, set thermostat to 76, run the dishwasher with any dirty dishes, and take garbage to the dumpster outside. ||5. They do not have daily housekeeping services. This did not stop a lady who appeared to be an employee from ringing our doorbell, and without waiting for any response, immediately unlocking our door and starting to walk in. We yelled hello when she opened the door and she left and locked the door. I walked outside the room to see who she was, and she just apologized and got in the elevator with no explanation. This made us feel incredibly uncomfortable. ||6. There are two sliding doors, one on either side of the bathroom. These doors do not close properly. ||7. The wifi stops working very frequently. I had to reset the router 10+ times. ||8. These are more nitpicks than anything else, but the bed is uncomfortable, the TVs only have regular channels and do not have access to any streaming services or anything, our leftover pizza box was frozen to the bottom of the fridge, and the bed only has three pillows. ||Pros: the room is beautiful and has a lot of space (pictures attached). The kitchen is small but has everything you need. The employees I spoke to over the phone were incredibly kind and helpful. Plenty of available parking. ||There is a Hilton and a Marriott right up the road from here. We chose to stay here since the other two were more expensive by a few hundred dollars. The Marco Beach Vacation Suites taught us the difference between a hotel being affordable and a hotel...
Read moreI cannot recommend this place; that would be hypocritical and I do not want anyone to have to go through something like this (that's if you want your privacy and decent accommodations). Beware of the following: Fridge did not work. Light bulb hanging from kitchenette's ceiling was burning my hair (I'm 5'5"), 100% sure bulb is to keep food warm in restaurants and not to use as a "lamp". All the china and kitchen utensils were filthy, one cup had LIPSTICK on it, had to wash everything. The furniture is cheap, so bad that it seems made out of cardboard. Shower floor, very slippery. Had an iron.....but no ironing board. Manager said "but the bed is new" and I'm wondering: "How is that going to solve the fridge issue?" Maybe the bed has special powers and will keep my smoked salmon from spoiling. All batteries in remotes had no good batteries, had to purchase a pack of new ones. Instead of replacing the fridge, a guy was scheduled for the next day to come and repair it....what?!?!? The entire idea of getting away is THAT; to "get away" and relax, not to do dishes, having a malfunctioning fridge, etc. Room is very bright, had to get a night mask. The wall clock is broken, and I can go on and on. Management was not very accommodating like I read in another comment (maybe they went to another place or the comment was made by management itself, I don't know). This was supposed to be a good deal...well no, that's when you get something nice in exchange; this was NOT a "good deal". I live in Miami and just came here to have a private and relaxing time with my husband. This is worse than a Motel 6. I will never ever stay in this...
Read moreMarco Beach is lined with two dozen or more gated condo hotels, with only two places for public access with small parking lots that are expensive and always full by 9 AM. So if you planned on going to the beach you are out of luck. However, MBVS also known as beach club of Marco, has its own private gated five foot wide 250 foot long pathway between two condos with direct access to the beach right across the street. This feature alone negates the many detriments of the hotel highlighted in the other negative reviews here. Yes the building is dated, the rooms not fancy, the furniture looks to be from the thrift store, there are no services, and the pool umbrellas are broken. I had to go to the thrift store to buy eating utensils and cookware, left them behind, and they are still here the next year. Price is half of what a decent private house rental would cost elsewhere, and then you would still have no way to go to the beach. If you have friends in town they can come park at your place and go to the beach with you, or even without you, because no one monitors the parking lot which is always 90 percent empty. Anything you nee d within walking distance, except of course the old Marco and bald eagle areas that you would still need to drive to. This is my third year in a row here. And it is a dump but i don't care and spend my money on...
