The 2 stars is for the owner who walked outside immediately assumed we were going to the beach. Did we look like we were going to the beach? Yes we just came back from a four hour shelling tour of the 10,000 islands with a shelling company and decided we would come here to have lunch because we were really hungry.
I put my EMPTY shell bag across my chest as I was going to put my wallet and hat in there. Wwhich I was going to use as a pocketbook. She already came outside before we were even finished at the car. Grabbing pills, phone, wallet etc. I’m explaining to her that we’re going inside to eat. She is assuming we are going to the beach I’m trying to explain to her that I wear a hat because I have cancer and the medication but she just proceeded to tell me she had it too. Don’t care. I’m trying to explain it medically why I have to wear the hat.
Saw all the nice people on the outside eating with hats so guess that was okay since no one asked me to remove it- since it was mentioned it’s not allowed in the restaurant
I understand the owners position - the rating is based on her actions!!!
You must have plenty of people that do the wrong thing however to come outside and automatically assume before we even left the car that we were not coming into the restaurant because she thought she was saving us from getting our car towed…. I live in Collier County I KNOW THE RULES
I go to Goodland all the time. I also go to Marco after to have lunch - we do this all the time!!!! It’s a first time where I was dressed looking like I was at the beach - and before I even locked up the car she was at our car BEFORE there after I will never step foot in this restaurant because the owner makes assumptions!! 🤦🏻
Our waiter today. Got a nice $20 tip because he did a really good job and it’s the last dime that the restaurant will ever see from me.
I don’t do bad reviews unless warranted !! This is a first time for me even when the...
Read moreVisiting from Canada, we can walk here from our condo which is great because they offer street and beach access to their restaurant. We are always met with friendly service from the hostesses and waitstaff. We had Victoria last night and she was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and it’s a large menu with a lot of variety! We ordered onion rings to share which were really great, and calamari which was also very well done, lightly battered and well cooked, however, the sauce that comes with it is very hot so be aware. I could count about 15 chili flakes that I could see and there were many more in the small amount we were given (probably 5 flakes would have been enough for my liking). If you enjoy spicy dips you’ll love it! I asked for an alternative option and she brought me a couple different things which was very accommodating, the basic marinara that comes with the fried cheese curds was probably the best match in my humble opinion. My mom had the grilled grouper which she enjoyed. My Dad had the seafood chowder which he said was great, his only critique would be to have some bigger chunks of the seafood in it, it was basically all emulsified, but the flavour was great. My husband had the Philly cheese stake sandwich and that baby showed up looking like a 10/10! Not super cheesy which a great cause it made it easier to eat. Also the buns for the sandwiches were soft and fresh and it was great that they didn’t cheap out on the quality here. It had great flavour and was a large portion, they all are. I had the shrimp po-boy sandwich and it was great, healthy portion of delicious fried shrimp shredded lettuce and chopped tomatoes the sauce they use is great and I’d order it again. But next time I’m getting the Philly cheese steak sandwich! (Big enough for a meal and to bring half home and...
Read moreBeen coming to Marco for close to 40 years and finally made it here and left incredibly disappointed. We had dinner elsewhere and were looking for a place to get a cocktail and dessert and watch the sunset. Had the kids with us and they weren’t keen on sitting outside with the pop-up storms rolling in but the hostess was kind enough to give us a great table right by the windows. For the view alone it was really nice but then came the drinks and dessert. First, we’re just ordered our drinks, typical of any restaurant. After bringing our drinks our waiter basically said that we had to order something to eat. But here’s the problem; #1 No we don’t and #2 We we’re planning to order dessert anyway so no big deal. Back to the drinks. We ordered a couple virgin daiquiri’s for the kids and their “signature“ Mai Tai for the wife and I. Can’t speak for the daiquiris but the Mai Tai was not good. Seemed like well liquor with artificial mixers; far below expectations. Moving on to dessert, we ordered the chocolate cake (dry), key lime pie (bland with an artificially flavored lime drizzle in an attempt to make it flavorful), and cheesecake (meh) for the table to share. All 3 were basically whatever their food supplier had on sale that week. Not fresh, not good. Finally, besides the nice view and table right by the window, the ambiance is a bit confusing. The walls are lined with TVs like a sports bar but you feel like your in the basement of an apartment building. It’s stale, dingy and overall underwhelming. We didn’t stick around long. My advice, go watch the sunset someplace else; anywhere else. We did and...
