Stilts Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Marco Island

I was recommended here by family so I expected a great experience. It was terrible! Right from when we sat down our waitress Dianne made us feel like we were an inconvenience. We placed our food order right away with drinks. She brought drinks but forgot a glass of water. She NEVER came back to our table ever again. Someone different brought our food. We had to go up to the bar to get a water. Dianne had a different table walk out on their check and the man flat out said the service and food was terrible. She proceeded to chase that family out of the restaurant. The way she handled that situation was so unprofessional is was mind blowing. Since Dianne never came back to our table I went up to the bar to ask for our check but they had to hunt her down to get it. Dianne brought the check and gave us a sob story about the family that walked out, but she ignored us prior to that situation. Worst part, I signed my receipt for an amount that only gave a small tip due to the terrible experience. Well it posted to my credit card today and SHE ADDED MONEY to the tip section! The staff in Stilts couldn't care less about there customers. My family of 5 walked up the stairs into the place and not one staff member said a word. After several minutes of looking around, we could see less than half the tables were occupied and the rest were dirty with birds eating the leftover food. The waitresses were walking by, wouldn't pick up anything from the tables, wouldn't say a word to us. I asked the bartender about a table, he said the waitresses were responsible for that. We waited 15 minutes before we gave up. No tables were cleaned when we walked out. I don't know why anyone would return to this place. This place is busy and cool.... very open. You gotta walk up to the 2nd floor, which is OK because it allows for a perfect view of the beach and Gulf. I completely understand that this is a busy place, but the 20 minute wait at the bar for drinks was an annoying start. Also, our server was awesome, but the food (lunch sandwiches) was even slower. The staff were all very nice and accommodated our party of 5 by putting to tables together in the center back with the best views. Food tasted very good and we understand long waits in today's world of restaurants... but this was way longer and was enough to knock them down a star. But I'll stick with 5 star because this entire island has is in such a great mood. Definitely...
