Really long walk down fenced in sandy trail to beach from road. Don't see any reason to come here instead of marina beach just down the street other than if you have a dog or there's no parking there. First beach since Del monte in Monterey that allows dogs. Also marina beach and fort ord has more and bigger sand dunes than here, so seems a misnomer. Read morethe rv park is located within walking distance from the marina state beach which is really convenient. it was about a 500 yards from the main street to the beach. the entire walk was in pretty thick with sand so come prepared. the RV park itself was nice. the bathrooms and showers were clean! each rv pad had a fire pit. there was ample trash cans to dump your trash. the only thing I didn't like was that most people parked their vehicle sideways infront of their rv which made it difficult to park our rv when we arrived...
Read moreWe recommend this over the Marina State park that is close by. There is a 500 yard trek to the beach but you'll pass amazing sand dunes in various state of recovery, and then miles and miles of clean beach! You can really spread out (great during this Covid time), and walk or swim or just catch a lot of zzzzzs.
There is no restrooms or much shade, so come prepared and bring an umbrella. This part of monterrey is cool. On the day we came it was 103 in Silicon Valley...
