I hope this makes people more aware of not every hotel is worth it for the price! Comfortability matters! Your money matters and your safety matters! Considering it’s right next to 1 of the most beautiful beaches in marina,ca for tourist!! Trust me I would not lie about this!!! The rest of the reviews will vouch and trust me they do not care about what people say about there hotel! DO NOT STAY HERE WITH KIDS!!! You will constantly be going to the front desk reporting issues & all they’ll say is change rooms to give you another horrible room trust me go see for yourself! I am not kidding They will purposely make there prices lower to get people to book with them because of course everyone is gonna choose a cheaper price and then they’ll put there’s only 5 rooms left when half the property is still available don’t get played out your money and reservation yall! Don’t say I didnt warn you!! If you don’t believe just go see for yourself as soon as you book and walk into your room! It’s all a scam they live inside the office in the little side door to the right behind the counter so they can see you when you walk in if there’s nobody there at the desk they might come to front might not morning shift is the Indian lady and then mid/night shift you’ll see rotation of people! Also if you see a tall Indian guy that looks like he has a toupe haircut he’s even more useless and will change prices to an extremely higher amount so they could eat and still not care about there property or customers. Same Mexican housekeeping staff will knock n knock on door become annoying if you don’t answer they’ll open the door even though they have a list of who’s staying and who’s not The fake general manager is barely there.. And they have there people living on the property it’s all a money hungry hotel to feed themselves and not care about a real business no matter what workers go there construction workers etc you book it’s never a guaranteed! Goes against all hotel laws! Everyone who works you’ll see the same rotation of people they all become “managers”! Why take someone’s money ?Worst hotel in marina I would definitely triple think before even thinking about reserving here the rooms are no good a lot of the amenities in the room arent fixed they do that so they can go inside your room creepy old Mexican dude! and very old unsafe for health reasons they watch you while you’re in the room I was a consistent customer for 3 months straight I stayed in the same room #236 every day I never checked out my room till I wrote this review 05/28/2024 by LAW you can’t even stay at hotels for longer then 28 days so the fact that they let me another reason they only care about your money!!! I am a female and they called the police on me is when I was fed up you can only deal with things for so long while taking notes of what’s really going on kicked me out of my room at 9:00 pm for no reason because he felt like it after me being in my room all day long like its second time happened first time he busted down my door and took my cash payment by the way they don’t accept cash that’s says enough at night the fake general manger who’s Indian has a very bad attitude and does not care about his title nor guest that stay there he makes everything a hassle when checking in and if there is a problem with your booking they do not take into matters of your concern. The house keepers will bug you early in the morning and wake you up out of your sleep as well as they allow drug addicts to stay in there hotel half of there hotel is filled with people that are homeless and smoke weed all outside they over price there prices whenever they feel like it because all they care about is the money they don’t care about you staying there. They smile in your face and give you a bullshit reason why they can’t accommodate you by any needs even through there 3rd party. They will take your money and also give you rooms that are no good inside. If I had a higher power number I’d call immediately to report there buisness I would give them 0 stars!! And I was...
Read moreExtremely bad service. Very rude staff. No towels available - a problem noted in other reviews. I though this motel looked ok because of the location, price and free breakfast. I generally stay in 2.5-3 star hotels when traveling with my children but since we were only staying for 2 days, it was listed as “beach front”, I thought I would try it. First, it isn’t beach front. There is a road and whole complex between it and the beach. For “Inn and Suites” the room was incredibly small (no room between beds wall, just room to walk around beds, only room for one person to walk between beds and furniture. One small lamp, no light in the sink area, just a light in the bathroom). When I pulled up and went into the lobby there were 5 people waiting and no staff around at 7:15 pm. I asked one of the women waiting if she had seen anyone and she said the staff person had told her he had to go to check on something in one of the rooms. She seemed very frustrated. I waited my turn and decided to be kind to him and ask how he was doing and make small talk since no one else had. He was nice enough. I thanked him and went to the room. Third floor, no elevator in case that is an issue. Isn’t for us but no one asked. Room was fine - the refrigerator didn’t work and hardly kept anything cool. Other than that - standard lower end 2 star motel. We had four guests listed on our reservation. There were two towels. My teenagers used them while I went out for pizza. I came back to two wet towels. I sent my son down to ask for more towels. He was told there were no more towels. I went down to ask for towels. I was told there were no more towels in the whole motel. I asked if all the rooms were occupied. I was told, no. I asked if I could have the towels out of an unoccupied room. I was told no and there might not be towels in the room. I asked if we could check. He said he couldn’t leave the desk. I said when I arrived he wasn’t at the desk. He told me he was in the bathroom. I said the some of the other guests waiting had told me he told them he had gone to check on something in a room. He told me he couldn’t leave the desk. I asked if the other employee I had just seen behind the desk with two rolls of toilet paper could check to see if there were towels in an unoccupied room. He said no. I asked why not. He told me that the man behind the desk didn’t work there. I asked why was he behind the desk getting toilet paper and he told me he lived at the motel. At this point I asked for the managers name and telephone number and his name. He wrote a name and an email address down on a piece of paper. Without realizing he had not given me the telephone number I asked to use the phone. He refused to give me the number or allow to me to use the phone. Then I put the piece of paper back and asked for a number for the manager. He must have realized I was going to complain. So he raised his voice and said I threatened him by “slamming” the piece of paper down. Then I said I did no such thing and he continued to raise his voice and threatened to call the police to have me removed. Look, I’ve worked in the service industry and I get it is a hard job but come on. Putting four towels in a room for four people with four registered guests is sort of a no brainer. Being nice to people and not jerking them around is also a no brainer. Threatening to call the police on a middle age woman traveling with three children for putting a piece of paper on a desk and being frustrated over poor service and rude treatment? Wow. He lied to me or he lied to the woman he told he was going to a room to check on something. He could have said, here is a key, you are welcome to see if there are towels. A simple, I’m sorry, we are short handed, had a delivery issue, my boss is too cheap to order enough towels - whatever the excuse is. Finally I asked him for a bedsheet and he offered me hand towels. He could have just led with that. I thought this being part of the Radisson chain might make a difference . Wrong....
Read moreThe good thing about this hotel is that it’s within walking distance to the beach. However, our room had a few issues.
The main thing was that it straight-up smelled like cigarettes the moment we walked inside. It felt like someone had just finished smoking in the room before we got there.
Several things in the room were broken: the main light switch by the front door didn’t work, some of the outlets on the desk and headboard were out, and the hand towel bar next to the sink was completely broken off. The lightbulbs on the nightstand were wobbly; we had to hold the base of the bulb to push the “On/Off” switch.
The room didn’t feel completely clean: the desk was still sticky in one corner, there was mold on one wall in the restroom, and the toilet paper roll was about halfway used already.
A lot of usual toiletries and hotel items were missing: no lotion, no bar of soap for the shower, no floor towel, and no laundry bag. There was only 1 trash can for the entire room, only 1 hand towel and 1 face towel provided, and there was no extra, unused toilet paper roll.
Front desk was very nice about giving us extra toiletries though. We went down to ask for more items like towels and toilet paper, and they were happy to provide them on the spot.
Overall quality of the room was okay if you’re not too picky, but even the most easygoing guest would notice the smoky stench. Wouldn’t recommend at all if you’re pregnant. The room was pretty tight and felt extremely cramped. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re claustrophobic or traveling with a lot of luggage. The walls were very thin, so wouldn’t recommend if you want total privacy. However, the interior design and furniture do feel somewhat up-to-date.
If there was one major turn-off about this hotel, it’d have to be the guests. Not sure if there’s a deal the between the hotel and them, but a majority of the guests appeared to be long-term. It felt more like an apartment complex than a hotel. We saw welcome mats outside the rooms, houseplants through the windows, tree sticks placed in the windows, and bicycles out in the court. Throughout our stay, we came across only one other guest that actually had a suitcase, who wasn’t living there and was actually just visiting.
On the night we arrived, there were people hanging out, smoking and blocking the walkway, just sitting in the desk chairs that they took out from their rooms. In the next morning, one guest came out in a tank top, shorts, and flip flops, carrying an entire kitchen trash bag to throw out in the big dumpster in the parking lot (he clearly had been staying there for a long time).
There were a stack of 2 tires and trash bags outside a corner room by the parking lot, some cars had trash inside up to its windows, and there was dog poop left throughout the parking lot medians.
There’s a reason why the hotel’s room prices are so cheap, even though it’s right by the beach. You get what you pay for. We booked our room for a fairly cheap price and didn’t travel too far for our stay, so it could’ve been worse. Had we checked the reviews ahead of time though, we probably would’ve thought twice about booking here. Luckily, it was just for a quick weekend getaway and we were out for most of the time. The beach is nearby anyway, so you can just walk over to the beach if you don’t feel like staying in.
If you’re looking for an inexpensive stay and are planning on being out for a majority of your trip anyway, and if you don’t mind the quality, this hotel is a pretty good deal, especially since it is so close to the beach. It’s honestly not too bad if you don’t mind all these things and are looking to score a very cheap stay, but I feel like it’s still worth knowing what you’re...
