My husband and I stayed here for two nights (Fri check in, Sun check out) this past weekend in order to do open water scuba certification in Monterey. The room was more expensive than we would've expected for a hotel of this tier — nearly $700 for two nights in a king room — but we think this was largely due to the Pebble Beach ProAm golf tournament happening at this time. The hotel was brand new: they had only opened on the Wednesday prior to our arrival two days later. Stuff was mostly all set but they were still working out a few kinks: notably, the elevator was out of order (though I did see the repair folks onsite throughout our stay) and also on Saturday the breakfast was unavailable at 6am as advertised (I think there was a staffing miscommunication since it was the first weekend day such that workers had incorrectly thought it was to start at 7 rather than 6). The front desk staff was friendly in our interactions. Room was very clean (evidently we were the first people to use it!) as was the broader facility. Location is fairly convenient to (15 min away from) Monterey though not walkable to much apart from a Denny's and a 7-11. Pretty sure they upgraded our room because it was very large which was appreciated given that we had a bunch of extra gear with use for scuba. Removing 2 stars due to the price + breakfast issue + elevator though in general I wouldn't outright discourage someone from staying here.

After a really productive call with the General Manager, I feel comfortable changing this review to 5 stars. The GM understood the issues and agreed things could have gone in a better direction. Thank you Hampton for listening to us the way you did. Thanks!

The blond kid with a ponytail working the night shift was confrontational and not customer friendly at all. He needs more real-world training about basic customer service, and general common sense. He literally wanted to argue over complimentary bottles of water. Apparently, Hampton Inn gave us Dimond members points rather than bottles of water... lol. So, when we asked for water for the night, he said NO! In the most, I'm in control, I have the power, way. No water for you, lol... Sad. Literally, how much does four bottles of water cost? My group was on a business trip, 8 rooms for 5 nights each. 40 nights, just for this month, Hampton, please look up our account, please and contact me, here's the test! 🙏 Generally, Hampton Inns have been very nice and our company has been happy with them, for the last two years, that's all we use, for sure. But, this time was unreal, just laughable almost. A one off individual that just needed to feel in control that night and deny water to the guests that ironically are Dimond members and get points. Because, as he tried to explain, if we had never been at a Hampton before, we'd get free water bottles. Then said, Dimond members get EITHER points OR water bottles. After we went next door and bought a case of water, he printed out the Dimond Rewards Rules, so as we re-entered the lobby he tried to reagrue the Dimond rules, that proved he was right and we don't get water. Then, he uncomfortably tried to hand me a sheet of rules for Dimond members as proof he was right! As my backpack was full of a case of water bottles and I'm waking by the front desk... I'm laughing just writing this review, I hope you are too!. This was a perfect example of following a corporate guideline vs. Normal human common sense. Just a control trip... I hope he felt powerful being in control of the water bottles of Hampton Inn & Suites, Marina,...

Pretty good hotel. Bunch of free movies, furniture and stuff is good.

I hope this review won't increase prices, as I believe that the cost per night is the correct price point. I want to praise the Hampton inn staff for providing the level of service families should expect when they stay at a Hilton brand hotel. The staff at this location were all helpful, professional, diligent, and customer focused. The quality they add to the hotels name and the Hilton brand should really be acknowledged from the top. We had a room in which another family above us was very loud with kids running around past 12 am. We waited as long as we could before calling the front desk, as we are a family with children and understand (especially during a school holiday). The front desk was so understanding and willing to mediate the situation. 30 min later there was calm and we were able to rest. The room was so clean, spacious, eco friendly, and relaxing. It was making me sad to think for a moment I wouldn't be able to enjoy my overnight stay. Though this is not the luxury spa resorts, The modern and clean look feels really high quality. The breakfast is very well done and the seating areas, amenities, and personal touches set this hotel apart from other hotels in the area. I generally think this area has great quality businesses, but this hotel is now our family's favorite and we will return here for our travels. There are charging stations and really good parking. It's conveniently located down the road from the beach , gas station, and a Walmart. I have already recommended this hotel to other friends and families for close to home vacations. Big thank you to the staff members for a...
