Great place to hike near/in Annapolis! It’s the only place I’ve found anywhere nearby where you can actually hike - there are lovely trails that trace ridges above the creek and go down into marshy valleys. There are lots of places to explore. We hiked for two hours and did not go through the entire park. It’s the most “wildernessy” area close to Annapolis. Some nice forest, water, and marsh views. The trail can be quite narrow, steep, and muddy at times, so wear hiking boots and be prepared for adventure - there were also a lot of fallen trees and branches. It’s a fun place to go, though!

This is a go to trail for me. The top loop nearest to Harry S Truman Pkwy has some closed parts. Go the other direction instead until that work is done. The other way does bring you to a 'bridge closed' sign, but the bridge is there. Instead of risking it, go a little farther to the left and you can cross over there. The rest of the trail is great .. well marked, lots of hills, some really beautiful views of the water.

There are 2 entrances to the hiking trails. One is behind library headquarters, the other is behind the track at Annapolis high school. The trails are usually not very busy. Dogs are welcome on leash. That being said, we have run into unleashed dogs and have brought are own dog off leash. If your dog likes to chase squirrels and deer I would recommend keeping them on leash.

This is a well hidden park that totally pays off if you're willing to find it. I visited on a Monday morning in a rainstorm and I'm really glad I did - the trail was abandoned and the deer couldn't hear my footsteps so I got to see several. This trail takes you right up to the edge of Broad Creek and it's just beautiful. The first short part of the trail takes you past a government building that is eerily abandoned, and it looks like something out of an apocalypse.

Again, just keep in mind that they seem to be interested on keeping this place hidden despite the fact that it's open to the public. Don't get discouraged if you can't find...
