Beautiful surroundings, but the building itself is rather old and outdated, but it does have a certain charm to it that probably attracts many couples. I actually work for a caterer and I was there for a wedding in July. It was extremely hot and unpleasant for the guests. The grounds and views were quite breathtaking and beautiful, however, I think more people were displeased because they were sweaty and had makeup smeared on their faces. Everyone's hair was flattened to their faces from the humidity. No central air,and then to accommodate their rather large party (100+ guests) the patios were used, meaning that the French doors remained open and tables were placed on the porches at both ends of the main room. Needless to say, there were bugs everywhere because the doors remained open throughout the entire event. Since their isn't central air conditioning they had a couple of window units, but they did not really do any good because the doors had to remain open. It's located behind some woods, so the bugs ranged from large mosquitoes to hairy, scary spiders. The poor guests looked terribly hot and miserable. That's not exactly what I would want my VERY expensive wedding pictures to look like, after hiring an already overpriced wedding photographer. Overall, the main issue really came down to having too many guests for such a small and cramped space,(even though according to the Liriodendron, that amount was acceptable.) Really? I guess they care more about the $ than the happiness of their guests. Pretty sad. I honestly felt bad for the wedding couple. A lot of money spent on what I would consider a "fail" . I'm sure not everyone minded fanning themselves the entire night, but nobody really danced because there was no room and they probably would have passed out from heat exhaustion. To sum it up, beautiful setting and for a winter, small event, it would be perfect! Beautiful fireplaces throughout the first floor making it cozy and...
