SUBPAR AND DISCRIMINATING CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have come here one other time for a cake that was decent, so I decided to order again for another birthday cake.

I went in to pick up my cake order and there was one customer in front of me. There were three employees behind the counter—a young man who was helping the client in front of me, one girl who was helping a other client with a custom cake order, and one other girl just standing there who I learned is named ROWAN.

I made eye contact with ROWAN several times trying to get her attention to help me, but then decided she must be in training because she continued to let me wait.

An elderly white couple walked in after me, and ROWAN immediately went to their aid. She had their order completed and nearly checked out by the time the client in front of me had finished and paid, and I was still waiting on my cake.

The gentleman was able to help me; however, it was deeply concerning that this employee was aware of my presence and did not provide any service until a different customer walked in the store.

I truly hope that ROWAN'S discriminatory actions do not reflect the business as a whole, but it was disrespectful enough to compel...

Purchased a cherry pie from this establishment. Not made with traditional butter-based flaky pastry dough. The dough was tasteless and somewhat gummy. Rather than the tart cherry fill, we found a sweeter, almost Maraschino cherry flavor working here. At least the thing has a fruit filling rather than a pureed mash. Rule #1--If you can't make the best product you can, don't do it at all. To be frank, it had the look of a pre-made product from some outside factory and just reheated in the bakery to bring it up to a certain browned appearance level. If they made this pie in house, I would suggest they drop the product, look up a good classic cherry pie recipe and try it again. This, all in all, was a very disappointing experience. Will not be going back for more.

By the way: Another warning signal that should tip you off is that they place this 8-inch pie inside of a plain white box, lacking any printed label or text advertising their bakery's name and address, phone, etc. So, my take on that is that they don't care enough about their services to even advertise the business on their containers. My mother ordered a birthday cake for me several days ago, to be picked up by me at 4 pm today. Several attempts had been made throughout the day to contact them and prepay so as to avoid direct contact with the bakery's staff, but no one picked up or responded. Apparently the bakery changed their hours between when my mother ordered and now, because I found the place closed with a sign reading that they are now only open on weekends. I understand we are in a health crisis, but we were not informed and we now have no time to order a cake from elsewhere. We thought, since we can't do anything else for my birthday, that I'd at least be able to order a cake. Changing hours I can understand, but ceasing operations without informing those with pending orders is very disrespectful, unprofessional, and upsetting, especially in these...
