Quite an eclectic collection of artifacts! Delightful host is very knowledgeable about this county -- even before Tennessee was a state! Be sure to ask if you have an area of interest because there is about as much that is not on display! This museum is a gem! Make it a "must see" next time you're in this area! [Update 07/21/2022] They've been putting new exhibits out! This museum tries to keep fresh exhibits circulating!]

It's just a small town museum. Sometimes those are the best simply because the volunteers can talk all about the history. That's what makes this museum good. Plus the fact that it is free!

We were exploring the birth place and final resting place of some of our lineage. David was a great help and the museum is very impressive.

Don't know where my review went but I had something taken from the museum that I was told would be put on loan after it was cleaned up. Then I was called several months later and told my artifacts would not be used only to find that 3 of the most important artifacts were not in the box. I questioned this and was promptly asked to leave and not come back. Being that they were sentimental it has deeply bothered me to this day. I wonder if an 1866 GAR medal from William A. MCTeer would ring anyone's bell? That was the whole reason I walked through those doors in the first place only to walk out and never see my...

Blount County Historical Museum is a hidden gem and a destination location for history buffs. The staff (George, David, and Christy, were there the day I visited) is knowledgeable and professional, and have an obvious passion for Blount County history.

An added bonus is the new addition of Bradley Reeves and Smoky Mountain Radio.

Don't miss this treasure trove, and the price is...
