You can never reach anyone by phone as they rarely answer calls or return messages. I also picked up my step son's retainer from the office in Knoxville. They never told me I had to bring him in to have the fitting checked. I myself do not have any knowledge of the braces/retainer process, so I thought nothing of it. When the retainer continued to constantly fall out of his mouth, I scheduled him an appointment to find out what was wrong. They came back only to state that the retainer did not fit, his teeth now needed a special retainer to re-straighten them, and I was going to have to pay for it because I didn't bring him in to have the fitting checked sooner. Needless to say, it took several minutes of arguing and me telling them that I was not told I needed to bring him in for a fitting check, as well as me telling them that I had already paid for the whole process up front (over $5,000.00) and that the process of him having straight teeth was not completed. They again stated I had to pay more money. I asked them where I signed something stating I had to bring him back in or if I didn't then I would be potentially responsible for the cost of a specialized retainer. Still they continued to try to charge me. I finally had to threaten to get a lawyer before they agree that I would not have to pay for it. So after the appointment, I was told it would take 7 - 10 business days for the retainer to come in and for my step son to come in for a fitting. It has been 11 business days and no phone call from them. So I try to call and get a status update, only to get a voicemail (during non-lunch hours). So here we go again......... the waiting game to see if someone in that office decides to pick up the phone and call me back....
Sincerely,
A VERY Dissatisfied...
Read moreEberting Ortho is an acceptable practice as far the braces are concerned, but their billing processes are a mess. My son's braces are to be removed in a couple months and I called to verify the balance owed thinking it would be 4-500 dollars. I was told that the balance was over $2k and they would not remove the braces until they were paid in full. We are blessed that a couple grand doesn't mess up our finances too much, but to find out that they have been submitting invoices to our insurance but they have not been getting paid is a serious breakdown of communication. The issue was that I changed jobs and didn't update my insurance with them (my fault), but I would think the onus would be on the provider to let us know that almost a year went by without any payment from the ins. (We make monthly payments for our share but even when we missed one, they never sent us an updated balance...actually, I have never received a balance sheet). So my review is this: Eberting is fine for braces, but you are responsible for making sure your insurance and monthly payments are up to date and being paid...otherwise, you will get a surprise when it comes time to...
Read moreMy daughter was 12 when she was started in braces. She has a small bone structure and jaws. I asked Dr Eberting TWICE over the course of her treatment if she needed any jaw expanding done and the first time he told me that she was too old and done growing and the second time I was told that it would not work. I was made to feel as if I shouldn't be questioning his knowledge and never asked again. At the end of two years she was finished and had an absolutely beautiful smile but her jaws never expanded so two years after this now she is 16, has dark circles under her eyes, chronic fatigue and a recent diagnosis of jaw TMJ clicking and sleep apnea due to not enough room in her tiny mouth for her tongue. Now that she has seen another orthodontist in Ohio, she has to go thru 2 more years of a sleep appliance, more braces and another $6,500 because she has no quality of sleep and has a huge problem functioning at school. The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of zero is because her teeth ended up straight so if that's all you need is straight teeth then that's what you will get however; you may find out you've made a mistake when other health...
